Chicking Manukau — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

We ordered over the phone at 10pm as we know there is usually a wait. We were advised our food would be ready in 15 minutes for pick up. 11.10pm we were still waiting for our order. The girl there could barely speak English which isn't an issue as we appreciate her efforts but to waste our time is ridiculous, especially when the food is right there and she was just walking around fuffing around stirring the fries ect. Dont promise what you can not deliver. If we knew this would be how long it would take to get food we would've gone elsewhere. An hour waiting time for fast food is ridiculous and to top it off we got home and they couldn't even get our order right with food we had paid for not in the bag. We immediately called the store as we had shown enough patience and the girl advised she was getting the item dropped off? how can you get the items dropped off if you do not know where we live? Absolutely Fantastic Experience at Chicking Manukau!

As my go to lunch spot, I had a genuinely amazing experience ordering from Chicking Manukau. First off, the variety on their menu is impressive—there’s something for everyone, whether you're after a classic fried chicken fix, spicy options, or tasty sides. The choices are well thought-out and cater to different tastes without overwhelming you.

The delivery was perfectly on time, which made the whole experience even better. Everything arrived hot and fresh, exactly as expected. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can really tell it’s been cooked with care.

What stood out just as much as the food was the friendliness of the staff. From placing the order to receiving it, the team was polite, helpful, and welcoming. It’s clear they value their customers and take pride in what they do.

Very disappointed in the service, and the food. We walked into Chicking Manukau store and there were no other customers. Placed our order before 5 other customers walked in and placed orders. 20 -25 minutes later we still hadn't received our food but the 5 latter customers received theirs and left. When asked why, the staff said we were busy so we"ll give you hot chicken. Within three minutes we leave with our food get home which is no more than ten minutes from Manukau. Chicken is cold, chips are cold and dry, the coleslaw is rubbery and the only hot thing was the potato and gravy that was nice and the buns were pretty good too. It was a waste of $55.00, but we couldn't be bothered going back again. If people are going to work in this sort of business, they should first want to be there cos they love their job and second take pride in what you serve the public. That meal was suppose to be a treat for the kids....
