Columbus Coffee — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Absolute trash. I wish there was a single redeeming quality but there wasn’t. One coffee with burnt, noticeably, and was meant to be decaf but that’s debatable. The other was weak as anything, frappe instead of iced (as ordered), and on top of that you have to pay extra for flavour shots, which is fine, but after paying extra for vanilla it would’ve been nice to actually taste it. No offer to remake it after pointing out the flaws. After the coffee disappointment we were hoping it would get better with the food, of course it didn’t. The nachos were the most overpriced plate of rubbish, clearly microwaved, flavourless. All in all we left completely disappointed without finishing a single thing. A reminder to just support local cafes for us, and if the only option is chain cafes we’ll be going with reputable / consistent places like Gloria Jeans or...

Waited over an hour for lunch. Staff claimed delay was other patrons ordered before we did. Table nxt to us arrived 10 or so minutes after we ordered but got his meal before we did. Ive been in hospo many years and usually understanding. But didnt like the lying excuse. Lady sent a complimentary coffee that was obviously a mistaken order or a double up from another order because it arrived in seconds after returning to my table. My table was drinking tea by the way. Next time ask customers how they can be compensated rather than asuming. Lastly, rather than making up an excuse, following up with the kitchen before u give explanation. I dont see how u can see from the counter that the chef is fixing up my order as we speak unless u read minds or see through walls. Hope this dont happen to anyone else. I Definately...

Haven't been here in years and then I was reminded quickly as to why. Food was terrible, ordered the bacon and egg panini that came with side salad. Partner ordered the ham, cheese n tomato croissant with side salad. Food had been reheated from fridge display of course, however once heated tasted old like it has been in fridge display for a couple of days and the side salad looked old and was just dumped on plate with a drizzle of what looked like a jelly texture dressing. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤮 Wasn't worth it and reminded me why I hadn't been there in years as it should have been the first and last time.
