龍華茶餐廳 Dragon's Gourmet — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

I had a fantastic experience here. If you have doubts about the 'authenticity' this is a genuine thing happening in Hong Kong. The staff certainly did their best to understand us and the server who was on in the beginning seemed very busy, or was waiting for a better English speaker to serve us instead (entirely understandable).

They kindly accommodated the 5 of us appearing without a booking. This is not a formal dining experience so do not go in expecting such. I had the Bolognese on Rice with an Egg which was remarkable. My company had a Honey Pork chop on rice and a baked Tomato and something on rice (I cannot remember what said friend ordered).

For something new (to my knowledge) in New Zealand, this is a wonderful thing to try, though do be prepared for some potential delays as a more fluent English speaker is likely clearing time to come and see you. Overall a wonderful place, my only advice would be perhaps some kind of communication to the customer that an English speaker is coming, as we initially interpreted this as slack/poor time management on the busy Chinese speaking...

Nice place to eat, with good HK style food. Good service and good level of noise: not too loud, not deadly quiet. It is popular with families though, being so close to schools and the local library, so your mileage may vary. There isn't much parking, so you'll need to either find a side street to park in or catch the 30 bus to get there. My main complaint is pricing; it's very expensive for what you get. We used to be very keen to having meal here as their service hours are flexible, the food there are quite tasty. But the recent visits were getting frustrated by terrible attitude: the waitress slammed the menus to the table while we sitted without any greetings, the inner if chicken was still cold while served.
