The place is fairly new and we were interested in trying it. The building wasn't too hard to find with its pink colour and there was a line when we drove past and managed to find parking on one of the side roads. There was a line at the counter but if you wanted a table there was another person by the door to take your name for the next table. The menu isn't too big and was split into savoury items, pancakes and waffles. There were also quite a few drink options. We grabbed the meatballs, chocolate pancakes and the chicken croffle to share. I also had a chocolate thickshake and that was quite nice in flavour and texture. The meatball medley was almost like a shakshuka. The eggs were nicely cooked with runny yolk. The meatballs had a nice flavour but the texture was a bit too soft for my liking. I was very excited for the chicken croffle since it sounded interesting. We had the sweet and spicy sauce and the chicken was quite nice. The croffle was a bit too soft though. I expected it to be more waffle like with crunchy exterior and soft interior. The pancakes were really nice. Nice flavor and the pancakes themselves were quite light and fluffy. The honey comb was also really nice. The place was nice. The dishes had nice components and other bits which weren't as good. They did have an interesting cabinet up front with treats but there weren't any labels so it was more going with what looks good. The wait for the table wasn't too bad, around 15 minutes. The longest part was waiting in line to order as there is no table service. You also help yourself for water. The food didn't take too long to come out after ordering too. It was a nice place for some tasty...
Read moreFirst off, the service was quite poor—or maybe more accurately, very slow. It didn’t seem overly busy, but the staff were clearly inefficient and not well-organised. Unlike most other cafes, there was no table service, which felt a bit strange considering the prices and the style they seem to be aiming for.
When it came to the food, the portions just didn’t match the price. I ordered the Big Breakfast, but honestly, it felt more like a Medium Breakfast with a Big Price Tag. Definitely not the hearty, satisfying plate you would expect. The Eggs Benedict was another letdown—the eggs were soft-boiled, not poached, meaning there was no beautiful, runny yolk that you usually look forward to.
The one saving grace was the Chicken Croffle—it was absolutely amazing. If you do visit, I highly recommend getting that… just make sure you ask for a side of maple syrup, because oddly, it doesn’t come with it by default.
Adding to the disappointment, there was a really unfortunate situation where a grandmother’s order for her grand child was completely missed. She ended up waiting over 30 minutes with no food, which was honestly hard to watch and made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable.
All up, Breakfast Club might have a few standout menu items, but between the slow service, small portions, and inconsistent quality, I wouldn’t rush back anytime soon. There are definitely better cafes in the area where you’ll get more value, better hospitality, and a...
Read moreAfter all the hype, we decided we had to try it out. No bookings, just walk in. Got there at 9.30, and it was already very busy, but we were seated quickly.
You have to order at the counter, which is unusual, and makes the place look crazy busy from the outside. A few people arrived and then walked away, despite some tables being free. Hubby ordered a milkshake which arrived straight away. But, I was left waiting 30 minutes for my coffee.
It was very cold in the cafe, with no visible heaters or heat pump, the door was wider open as well, meaning all the wind from the street was coming in.
The whole "walk in" thing was problematic, as many people were wanting bigger tables, but were getting turned away or told to come back. There wasn't the space. A booking system would work better.
Food arrived, but mine wasn't correct. They'd forgotten the bacon I ordered and had to fix it.
We both ordered pancakes, I got the Original Stack, with bacon on the side, and hubby got the Berry Blast. My pancakes were stone cold. I couldn't be bothered calling the waitress again, so I ate them. They tasted nice, would have been even nicer if they were hot. Hubby said his were warm, but not hot, and very tasty.
Just as we were about to go we were told their mistake with the bacon needed to be paid for as we hadn't paid for it. So that was annoying.
All style and no substance from...
