If you’re in the mood for craft beer and great bar food in a garden bar setting, this is possibly the best option in the Mount. I must admit that I was a little hesitant when I read that it’s a Moa bar. Their beers are pretty mainstream now. However they do have non-Moa options as well. The food is better than your average bar food. We had the ocean platter and it was so good. Often platters rely heavily on fried food, but not this one. The highlight was the charcoal bamboo coating on the prawns. Laid back atmosphere and good service as well make this a place to visit often.

Hide is a great name as this place really is well hidden. You walk down a narrow walkway between buildings and find yourself in a beautiful courtyard. We went for Dumpling Sunday when all orders of dumplings (6 per order) are $10, a good deal. We had three orders, trying the mushroom, the prawn, and the Korean sesame beef (this last one was deep fried). All were delicious. This atmosphere is really lovely, some tables covered, some in the sun, and a small indoor area, too. They have a nice selection of beer. We thought the service was terrific, too.

Great lil spot! Love the staff so friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is spot on Food was delicious. Short ribs is to die for šŸ˜ pork was yum but fatty (however our server did inform us this when we ordered, it's the type of cut of meat) chicken was good. Fried chicken delicious! The brie also delicious! Great range of Gluten free options. Cocktails were delicious especially during that happy hour. Atmosphere was amazing! Overall my family and I were amazed at this lil restaurant. definitely will be coming here again

I visited this restaurant with my wife for an evening meal. The menu was rather ambiguous, divided into small and large plates. We asked the waitress for some clarity around how this worked, and she told us that all the items are for sharing, kinda like a tapas bar. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was averagely priced, no complaints there. We ordered 4 smaller plates. Now bear in mind, these plates were priced from $16 for a sweet corn (one) to $26 for 2 tiny beef kebabs. We had fish tacos (2), kebabs (2) a small section of kos lettuce and the overpriced sweet corn (cut into 3 pieces, even though there were 2 of us and they cost a dollar each in the super market). We looked in amazement at the food, wondering how this was going to amount to any more than a starter for 2. The food itself wasn't what I'd call terrible. It was average. If I'd cooked it at home I'd have been disappointed, but not angry. $157 for 2 people for what amounted to a starter was really disappointing. The staff were lovely, the service of the food was slow. We'd drunk most of the bottle of wine before it turned up. The food was really disappointing, averagely cooked and prevented and represented the worst value I've had in New Zealand in 20 years by a country mile. The atmosphere and music was great. This place is absolutely screaming out for a proper, sophisticated menu - not this overpriced, poorly portioned rubbish. I'm giving this place a single star for the food, which is indicative of the cost, taste and overall experience.

By comparison, we'd returned from Rarotonga a couple of weeks ago, where this place would be out of business in a week. In Rarotonga, despite the majority of the food having to be flown in beats this place hands down on taste, location, price, quality - on every measurable metric. And that's every single restaurant in Rarotonga, not just one. New Zealand is grossly lacking in quality, we need...

Really disappointed, went for my cousins 25th burthday and from the moment we arrived the restraunt and staff seemed abit off, the seating area is very lovely and warm, but the most common problem is that the freezer for the kitchen is outside where the guests eat so feels awkward ordering your food and then seeing them literally grab a frozen container and walk it back to the kitchen, now onto the menu everything is highly over priced and the "small plates option on the menu is a joke, all the portions are tiny and are the same price as the main meals, but the mains are the same size as the small plates, apart from steak that was only main that was big, we also ordered some sides, they only have a salad and fries option and to see that fries priced at 14$ youd expect a decent amount sadly, not, my order also never made it to the table and was left hungry eating my girlfriend side of fries witch was about 4$ worth of chips, food took over half an hour to reach the table, by rhe time the food reached the table i was over it and wanted to leave as only ordered fries and a burger, later onnthat evening a waiter spilled condiments on me, he did end up paying for the meal and offer dry cleaning but it really just wasnt worth the experience, i dont reccomend dinning in at this restraunt unless its just for the "experience of somehere new" because everything is over priced and for what your paying for is ridiculous sorry to leave a bad review but its just the truth, really...

We really enjoyed hide when we first discovered it over the winter, however our recent visits have left us disappointed and unsatisfied. Service has started lacking, with long waits between being seated and ordering. Our go to orders were the loaded fries and the margarita pizza, however I don't think we'd ever bother ordering either again at this point. The loaded fries used to be a generous serving of thick hand cut curls of potato smothered in a rich creamy chili queso sauce, now it is a handful of homebrand style fries with a squirt of rubbery cheese on top, for the outrageous price of $14. The margarita pizza used to be flavourful but the new version is bland at best. I think its time to take hide off your list of places to eat in Mount, for what they are serving now its a total waste of...
