Awesome Japanese joint in Timaru - pretty authentic chicken karaage and yakitori. I think it was so good because you wouldn't expect to find such authentic/delicious Japanese fare in a smaller quieter town like Timaru. Two thumbs up! Yakitori was so good we had to do a repeat order! Better to make a booking because they fill up pretty fast both at lunch and dinner.

It’s great having good Japanese in Timaru. I’d recommend this place. Great service, great food. Heaps of seating and looks like it can cater for decent sized groups. Food was a little slow to come out, but I honestly don’t mind if it’s done well and it was! Thank you!

We cannot get over just how amazing each and every dish was. We had 3 small plates, 2 raw plates and 1 large plate to share aswell as the yuzu cheesecake to finish off. Not a single complaint, Just 100% recommendation. Partner was also happy with the range of whiskys.

8th September - This is my first time trying this Japanese 🏯 restaurant 🍴. I saw the reviews on Google Maps 🗺 and it seems to be highly rated. So, I decided to have a try.

I order a teriyaki salmon and a ginger beer 🍻. It was a lunch special, which the dish is NZD $19 while the drink is NZD $5. The wait wasn't long, it took approximately 5 to 10 minutes after ordering to receive my food.

The salmon fish was cooked nicely, and covered with teriyaki sauce. Not bad, it was delicious. I didn't realise the rice 🍚 was hidden underneath the salad 🥗 and salmon fish. I thought 💭 it was strange that the rice 🍚 hasn't arrive, but once I scooped it, I found the rice 😅.

Overall, it was a good experience from this Japanese restaurant 🍴. This is a licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is plenty of seating area. Street parking 🅿 only. They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know). Would I go back? Yes 😀. Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. It was yummy. Price: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Slightly pricing for a bowl of teriyaki salmon [rice]. Customer service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. The staff were friendly. Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Very contemporary style (checkout my photos and video 📹)

This place is seriously not worth coming to.

The tempura seafood was edible. Salt and pepper squid - squid was ok however, the sauce was a little strange. Sashimi - only salmon and tuna - also not fresh. Service of the food was ridiculously SLOW - waited 35mins For the quality of food being served, it is not worth the price.

If this resturaunt was to be operated anywhere outside of Timaru, I would say that it would have gone bust within a week.

I really cant understand WHY this place has such a high rating on google? Is the standard that low around this part of town? Or are these reviews mostly paid for by the...

Went for dinner here last Saturday night, The wait staff were great, food was great and a good price. the only downside was the generous portions and while this is not bad in itself, We asked the waitress as to the portions size and said that we were thinking of ordering 3 side dishes each and she said that would be fine, But it was far too much food! I think that she would have been better to suggest that we start with 2 sides each and then if we still wanted more, then order another dish. I know they are not going to know the appetite of each customer, But it would be wise to advise on the size of...
