Burj — Restaurant in Christchurch

We had the pleasure of dining at Burj, Christchurch’s newest modern Lebanese fine dining restaurant, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable culinary experience.

We enjoyed a variety of beautifully presented and flavour-packed dishes including the House Baked Za’atar Bread, Chicken Shawarma with Pickled Red Cabbage and Toum, the perfectly grilled Charcoal Prawns with Aleppo Butter, Capers, and Ajwain, and the succulent Tavuk Shish—tender chicken thighs served with Sumac Onions, Herbs, and a fragrant Saffron & Blood Orange Sauce. Every bite was a celebration of flavour and modern Middle Eastern flair.

We ended the meal on a high with the indulgent Chocolate Pudding and a classic Irish Coffee, which perfectly rounded off the evening.

A special mention to Nikki, whose warm hospitality and attention to detail truly elevated our experience. The waiter(Ashley) who served us was also outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional.

Had to try this new restaurant that everyone has been raving about, we certainly were not let down!! Parking right out the front, greeted well at the door, beautiful setting in a well thought out atmosphere. Amazing table service by Callum who explained everything on the menu. Ordered the house baked Za’atar bread with labneh 😋 Chicken shawarma & Charcoal prawns as a tapas sharing dish 😋 Charcoal roasted pork belly as a main with cauliflower & roasted potatoes 😋 Wine matched with a few Coronas on the side. Food came out in a timely manor, was table checked by the maitre’d who we gave a positive compliment to. It’s those small touches throughout the course of the evening that made experience unforgettable. Most definitely will be back!! The atmosphere is a perfect blend of modern elegance and relaxed comfort, with stylish decor and a warm, welcoming vibe. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour, but the prawns… wow.
