Mayor Of Ale — Restaurant in Christchurch

Our social group recently visited Mayor of Ale for Friday night drinks. The staff were friendly and looked after our reservation on time. Inside atmosphere was vibrant. However, the main let down was the outdoor area. It is also a designated smoking and vaping area. The main doors to this remained open and the smoke from cigarettes etc drifted towards the indoor area, making it somewhat unpleasant at times. These doors should have signage saying keep doors closed, or move the designated smoking area to a small section in the north outdoor area, with adequate signage stating this. To be blunt, it's actually borderline of by-law policies with inadequate closed separation between smoking and non-smoking areas. This is can affect patrons returning in the future. Hopefully management can alleviate the this problem...

Mayor of Ale is hands down one of the best spots in Christchurch. The atmosphere is always buzzing but still relaxed enough to just hang out.

The service is super friendly and quick, which makes it easy and enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the schniddys… epic and absolutely delicious! Big, crispy, and packed with flavour – easily the best I’ve had in ages.

It’s the kind of bar you can come to for a casual drink with friends or settle in for the whole night. Great vibe, great service, and we’ll definitely be back....
