Sal's Authentic New York Pizza - Riccarton — Restaurant in Christchurch

THE absolutely Worst Take Away experience we Never had. Paid $62 for a Pepperoni Pizza & Wings & they didn't even bother to deliver us a Pizza, all they delivered was Wings on a Friday at 5.30 pm. All the Manager offered to do was drop off a Pizza to us later that night sometime after 8 O'Clock which we didn't know to laugh at or Cry at :) Absolutely Ridiculous suggestion, after you finished working all week & are expected to starve till after 8 pm in my opinion is to say the very least, lets just say not ideal :) Then he couldn't even be bothered to take down my account number for a refund & said he would call me back for an account number that he obviously already had. Still, we never did get a refund, we even got an email from head office saying that they would sort it out, but they never did, looks like they couldn't be bothered either. He could have simply made a Pizza & sent it out in another Uber, but no, he couldn't even be bothered to do that, and that, is supposed to be his job. The food, if you can get any is usually excellent, as we've been going there for years, but Sal's lost a pair of customers...

Very poor service. I arrived at 6:35 and promptly ordered a Little Neck Combo. This consists of 2 slices of my choice, 3 garlic knots, legendary sauce and a can of soda.

I waited just over 15 min, which at first was fine, but considering other people who ordered AFTER me and got almost the exact same order I did got both their orders within 5 min…this was not ideal but I was willing to understand. However, I received my food and my garlic knots were ice cold (I live not even 10 minutes from the restaurant plus I watched the server use his bare hands to just take them out the cabinet and straight into the box. No warming. I ALSO ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of cheese for my 2 slices, and received 2 cheese. I know server heard me correctly as I saw on the screen where I paid it said the correct order.

Disappointing for a place I go...

Service was fine, nothing special. It's a little loud for my tastes, but it does fit the 'New York' vibe I think. Great as take-out :)

Rather expensive though, if you want a whole pepperoni pizza it is $42, $21 if you share it with someone. I recommend buying a whole pizza and splitting the cost with someone because it is cheaper (buying a half is $25.2)

The pizza is the best I have ever had. I normally feel sick when I eat greasy, delicious food, but this pizza was cheesy and amazing base and pepperoni and more. I highly recommend trying it at LEAST once.

The wait times are long, as to be expected if you get a new pizza made. I recommend you order online then come to pick it up.
