Poke Poke — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

Was recommended this place-originally new market one but that’s closed now so had to put my two cents somewhere-by a friend and wow long story short: best bang for your buck poke place! My bowl consisted of: Purple rice and salad 2 protein tuna and salmon. Toppings: edamame, seaweed, crab surimi, ginger, pickles. Finishing a: Kimchi mayo with sesame, fried shallot, seaweed. For the portion size, the price is extremely decent, even though the fish have a 50 cent extra charge, my meal only ended up being 14.90. I'm so surprised and happy with the meal and the quality of the sides. The tuna and salmon were both well marinated with soy, soft and fresh, and decent serving size. The toppings complimented my meal very well, especially the ginger and pickle which added strong taste and the shallots were super crunchy adding that wonderful texture. Personally the rice was a bit too overdone, most of it was too soft and mushy-that's the only con I have. Otherwise, you can't beat it...

Superb food, excellent service, great dining space.

The concept is fairly straightforward - pick your base (rice / salad / mixed), then your protein (six options - all yummy), and top with general salads, sauces, and sprinkles.

Very healthy, very fresh, good flavours, and a decent portion size too.

You can pay extra for avo and a few other options, but only if you want it to be a bit more fancy. The regular items are enough in my opinion.

Drink selection is decent, and the shared (with the other restaurant customer) space / food court vibe at the back to eat is clean and airy.

I ordered care of Uber Eats & I turned up at the time I had requested 1.15pm-1.45pm & they said I needed the confirmation from Uber Eats to collect it…… no confirmation was sent until 2.45pm! I went back at 2.45pm to collect a stone cold Miso Soup (& the most miserable Miso Soup I’ve ever had!) and a Poke Bowl that looked like it had been sitting around for quite some time! It was a total disappointment, so want be using this service again! I hope that when I go next time to order at the store that the experience is somewhat better…..🤞They definitely need to sort...
