Hanoi Haven — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

Hanoi Haven is a gem for Vietnamese cuisine lovers! The pho was a standout—clean yet deeply flavorful, with a rich broth that tasted authentic and well-balanced. The lemongrass chicken was another highlight—juicy, tender, and packed with delicious flavour. Even the fried rice was surprisingly yummy, with great texture and taste.

While the prices are slightly higher than some other spots, the quality and portion sizes make it worth every penny. The best part? The service—our server/manager, Christopher, was incredibly attentive and friendly, even during peak hours when the restaurant was busy. He made our dining experience really lovely.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, maintaining a nice vibe despite the crowd. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes soon! Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Vietnamese food with excellent service.

Recommended by friend for her birthday dinner here. They offer a very good range of beverages including a non alc drinker like me. Long (hopefully got the name spelt right. Please let me know the right spelling and I'll correct it) gave us the perfect recommendation as far as food goes. We ordered: Kingfish Sashimi, Fried Spring Rolls, Bo La Lot, Chao Tom, Hoi An Seafood Curry and Papaya Salad. All of which we polished up cleanly. Not really a Kingfish person but I must say, it was very fresh - one of the best sashimi I've had! Long even made our night by leading a team of 'singing crew' carrying a birthday dessert after knowing there's a bday girl! Awesome service, thanks Long and team! 10 out of 5 stars easily! I am so sorry for saying this but the manager earlier was kinda rude to tell us that we only got 5min left to finish everything and we were there not less than 15min as they serve the food a bit late. We were rushing to finish the food and did not even enjoy it, just so sad. We kinda rushed afterwards and did not want to argue back or make a commotion out of it. It was just so weird for him to tell it to the four of us, not even telling the table next to us who came earlier. Just a bit weird.

P.S. We queue earlier and he told us wait. When we got the table (after waiting for almost 30min to be seated), he then told us that time that their serving time would be 45min. We just agreed cause we were so hungry and wanted...
