I won't comment about cleanliness because I wasn't there long enough to judge. The limited time I was at Gold Star Bakery, I was eyeballing the food and trying to make up my mind. They have a mind-boggling array of options, including pies. I was in the mood for a sandwich and opted for the chicken avo mayo roll, which was also packed with veg and tasted like a childhood memory. If there was more than 5 stars these guy's would get it! Best Bakery pies 100% on the Shore! They are real nice to deal with and parking is a breeze and they are open much later than most bakery's on a Saturday with plenty of stock!! I got asked yesterday walking to work "Where is the best bakery" And I surely told him " Gold Star Bakery " - Sunnybrae road HANDS DOWN the best !! I don’t mind a bakery that isn’t super clean but this was next level, I didn’t realise until after I had paid but the staff member had a glove on, was handling pies with her hands, taking cash and texting on the phone with the same gloves!! What’s the point of the gloves if you are cross contaminating everything you touch. If that’s what you’re showing in front of the customers what are they doing behind the scenes? Pies not baked fresh daily as many have eluded too. Would not return, waste of money. Perhaps take a basic food hygiene course. Unsure why...
