Café Figg — Restaurant in North Island

We liked the look of this cafe from the outside and it appeared to be quite busy. My daughter and I ordered a coffee, an iced-chocolate and two scones. After 20 minutes (and watching people who were served before us and who had ordered full-cooked meals receiving their food) one of the women (by her behaviour I'd say the owner or manager) came out to see if we had received our food. We said no. TEN minutes later I received a terrible coffee and the two scones (cold though evidence that they had been heated and left to go cold again...) after another 10 mins (total now of 40 mins waiting...) we approached the counter and asked for for our money back. INCREDIBLY the owner started admonishing her staff in front of us, forcing us to point to who took our order and then verbally abused another staff member in front of us. We will never, ever go there again. Terrible on...

What an absolute gem of a place!!! After the godforsaken Metlink decided to plonk us in Petone, telling us a bus replacement was round the corner (it was in fact round many a corners) we decided to settle getting lunch in Petone. My associates said that they went here yonks ago and said it wasn't too shabby, but boy was it more than your average cafe. We were greeted with lots of menu items, all of which were scrumptious sounding as the next. We ordered various brunch items such as the muesli bowl, french toast and the big brekkie, all of which came out super quickly. All were fresh, tasty and above the standards my accomplices said it would be. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sun that the day had to offer and ate one of the best lunches of my life, can't wait...

Stopped off this morning for a coffee and also a banana muffin which I can highly recommend. Asked for a latte in a glass got that. Excellent coffee by the way.

A great atmosphere here and if you’re smart you’ll get here first thing in the morning you’ll get all the sun on the table by the window which we were lucky to have.

There is a great atmosphere here and we would highly recommend anyone to come.

People who own the place and work here are very friendly and helpful especially about the bus service because we need to get into the city.
