The Chopstick Table — Restaurant in North Island

Dining here came after a quick Google search for local Asian cuisine. After driving by and seeing half capacity we figured if nothing more the wait time would be minimal. It was so, so much more. Bright friendly and attentive service with food that was sensational; Clean, well presented plates with nicely balanced flavors, generous portions and fresh, crisp produce made ALL of the dishes sensational. With my own experience as a chef and in Hospitality I find it (in a non snooty way) difficult to be this impressed.

Starting with the tasting platter, a local beer and Cocktail we were instantly impressed. We eat with our eyes first and this was no exception. A great balance of flavour, colour, texture, condiment and quanity alongside presentation meant we knew mains would be great.

Crispy Pork, Beef cheek and Lemon Grass Chicken salad made up the three mains we shared and whilst vastly different from each other, the flavors didn't over power and we enjoy the dishes in unison.

Opting for a sneaky dessert to wrap things up the waiter knowledgeabley answered my enquiries and recommended the Brulee which has become (as advised) a local favourite. Again, great flavor, presentation, and the brilliant sugar crumb crackle we come to expect with this age-old classic.

Finishing our drinks, we were offered a container for what became lunch the following day and settled the reasonable bill.

Enjoyed food - two entrees, tiger prawns (6) $20, and spring rolls (4) $16 One main - Floating boat seafood $36 - not good value for $36. 2 no sugar cokes @$5.00 ea Total $86.00 if the main had been more substantial the overall cost would have been forgotten. Kitchen was quick and dishes were served as soon as they cooked so good and hot. A suburban restaurant is not lavish in decor but with very attentive service. Is fully licensed but allows byo wine only. For an Asian restaurant, the alcohol / wine list is very expensive. We popped in at 7.30 a Tuesday evening for a light meal on our way home. First time here. Mothers day dinner with my siblings. It was great. Forgot to take some photos as I as busy stuffing my face with food 😂. Beef Pho was 💯. I demolished that in no time. I also ordered salad however I didn’t touched it. Fries was everything. Mum had the salad and it was the highligh of her night 😂😂

Background music was the highlight for me 😂.

price wise is not bad. I spend $140 for the 5 of us!!
