Eva Pub - Wellington — Restaurant in North Island

I'll admit, this started on the back foot with them running an ad for themselves on a 2 minute loop on 8 screens simultaneously around the restaurant at all times.

Either they got my order wrong, or this is the weirdest Mexican pizza I've ever seen. I'm going to level with you: I was too tipsy from the well-priced beer to care whether or not they have me the right pizza. The toppings were fine, the bread was exactly fine enough to not be awful.

My partner got a burger with weirdly solid bread. They were able to make it dairy free, so that was nice, but I'm wondering if the might have decided to give her some rock solid GF Buns.

None of the Friday night live music tonight unfortunately. At $18 each, my partner's cocktails certainly weren't anywhere near as cheap as the beer.

10/10 cheap beer and friendly staff

6/10 food

4/10 ambience (would be 8/10 without constant ads, or 6/10 if they at least varied the ads)

I’m from Auckland & my cousin & I went out and were meant to go to another bar on Sat. The line there was packed so we then detoured and saw Eva Beva and thought to just enter and have a drink while we try find another bar. From the moment the security guard greeted us in politely, to the bartenders being super kind, warm and inviting, we had our 1st drink and decided to stay - best decision ever! Sarah was our 1st bartender for a wee while and was just the most loveliest and kindest person!! LJ later joined and both their energies and warmth really showed me what great customer service is and should always be. They were so fun, funny, polite and kind!! These girls are an asset to your team and I hope they get recognition for their awesome mahi over the weekend! Thank you ladies and Eva Beva, I will defs be back again and bring my friends along 🥰

P.s - your mens room is AMAZING!!! Love the layout and art work all around it....

Well located. Food was good.

Attended a fund-raiser pub quiz on a Monday night, which was well organized. Unlike most pub-quizzes I have attended across the city, this one was actually well suited for all ages to enjoy, from people in their 20s all the way to retirees. And the questions were very international; you didn't need to have grown up in NZ to be familiar with the quiz questions, which is where most pub quizzes disappoint.

Most of the staff were pleasant. But possibly understaffed on the pub quiz night, coz the bartender got stressed out and irritable with more than one member on my team, for no solid reason.

We sat at a table near the entrance of the pub (assigned table for pub quiz). Unfortunately, the pub patrons would step out to smoke, and the cigarette smoke kept wafting in. Possibly need a better smoking spot than just near the entrance.
