First time visiting here after hearing really good things and lots of recommendations. Managed to book a table for 12:30pm on a Saturday. Seems to fill up quickly with bookings so I’d recommend to book well ahead. I had the wagyu cheese burger ($29) and my friend had the fish n chips ($29) The food was tasty and good portion sizes, my only complaint is the wait. Our order was taken pretty quickly which was great, but after 45 minutes of waiting and other tables who arrived after us being served and no sign of our food, I had to flag a staff member down to ask if our food was coming. Low and behold, two minutes later our food arrived. It wasn’t piping hot, more luke warm. Which makes me think that maybe our food had been ready but sat there for a while. I’m not a “Karen” so was not going to send it back to be recooked, and by this point I was so hungry I just wanted to eat. If not for this, I would have given 5 stars. The staff were really friendly, interior and decor is awesome and a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. $11 for a “pint” of export 33 isn’t too bad either, the craft beer was more expensive but if that’s what you like, then there is a good selection. Personally don’t like hoppy craft beer. Would return but maybe just for drinks only as other places to eat that are a...

The food sucked.

The service was pretty good and the place looks really cool with a good atmosphere but the food was really bad.

I’m suprised it has such high ratings but the food we got was pretty much all pre made brought foods from the supermarket. I was surprised it came out so fast , the presentation was absolutely amazing but the food was a real miss.

I got biscoff pancakes where the pancakes were definitely just the ones you buy from countdown that are pre made in the plastic bag.

The chicken waffles was a miss. Waffle was dry as and the chicken flavourless.

I also was there the previous day for a work do and although everything looked really great but everything was bland and pre brought/ made .

Apart from the really bad food , everything else was...

This review is based on the experience I had w a group of 10 + a small dog.

I bought the Meat Platter which was around $69. For the price I had fairly high expectations having been to a few smokehouses recently. The meat platter is fairly mid and not quite on par with its low and slow competitors. There's quite a nice pulled brisket which also features in some of their burgers and other mains. I think the burgers are alot better from what I heard around the table.

Service was good and the atmosphere was very fun. They allow you to have dogs in the restaurant which I though was very nice if you are a dog owner.

Despite my mid meat platter I still had a very enjoyable experience. If you are in Petone I'd say it's one the new 'places to go to,'...
