Golding's Free Dive — Restaurant in North Island

I forgot to give this place a review the first time that I went so I apologize for that. What I can say about both times that I have been there including tonight is that goldings is one of the best bars in wellington! Not too noisy, lovely atmosphere and very laid back as a place too with a keen variety of draft beers and great food. The pizza was great the first time that I went but today, the pizza place that provides the pizzas was closed so instead, I enjoyed some quesedillas cooked up by a gentleman called Alex who is polite, friendly and a great cook. I really cannot complain about anything with this place. It can get pretty busy on most nights though so try to get there a little early if possible but either way, the staff there will do their best to accommodate you in this lovely little place that as long as you check beforehand on Google reviews or directly with them via phone number, it will not be completely impossible to find a place there to enjoy beer and food. Visiting from Australia and came in today for a pizza and beer for lunch. Was told by the young waitress that I wouldn’t be served as I was only holding an Aus drivers license (I’m 26 years old) but my boyfriend had just passed with his Aus license as ID. The three of us left without giving our business. Having worked as a Manager in customer service for the past 5 years I’m disappointed with the service and her not being able to make a fair judgement call after seeing my age. We'd like too thank you for our experience on Sunday night. My sister and I needed a beer and a debrief and you guys, well, you guys were exactly what we needed, great vibe on entrance smiles all round it was obvious you guys enjoy you job and the fantastic environment you work in. As a huge Starwars fan this is a place has such a vibe, I'd love to recreate in my home. Great local beer, great atmosphere, joyful and attentive staff, exactly what you want when you come home to Wellington on holiday. Never change and look forward to seeing you guys...
