Went for the advent calendar cheese board deal. The cheese board was tiny for two people. It consisted of 5 or so slices of brie/camambert, similar of yellow cheese, some pickled red onion, crackers, and a half dozen grapes. The red onion was legitimately nice though. I'm not sure whether this was an adulterated serving size, but the smallest size of cheese platter advertised on their menu was $20. If I WAS paying for the normal menu item, I'd expect a lot more for my money so in some ways I'd hope the cheese board from the deal was not typical size.
We were allowed to choose non-alcoholic drinks with the deal, but the range was limited. We were told we weren't able to select the $6 rose lemonade and had to pick from the $4.50 options (coke, juice). Despite the fact that the alcoholic house options are several dollars more expensive.
I understand that there's some general sense what's considered a 'house' drink and some things aren't going to be in that category and that ultimately the business decides what's in/out of consideration for any deal. It does just feel bad as a customer to know that people who drink alcohol are getting such a...
Read moreThe meal was delicious, we were all super happy with the portion of the pork belly as you usually don't get very much. Plus the flavours in this dish were really good. The sides were tasty and a good size - we shared three between three people and that was good amount. Recommend the carrots definitely. Overall very happy with the food and alcohol.
We were seated downstairs opposite the bar which was fine except in direct line of the doors. People would leave the front door open after entering or leaving and the smoking area door was constantly left open allowing the smoke and then cold air to get in. We got up from our table more than 10 times to close one of the two doors. Plus there were two other guests that also closed the door. This wasn't great - the staff did close them when they noticed they had been left open. However, I think you need to get doors that automatically close themselves so this is not an issue as it was a cold evening and one of our table had put coat back on...
Read moreWas really excited to come her for brunch as I had heard so many good things about the restaurant. Came here on Saturday 27th of November at 10am with friends that had come down from palmy and have never been more disappointed in my life. The food arrived at 11, after 40 minutes of waiting and it was incredibly underwhelming. The waitress did not check up on us and did not pay us any attention thought out the entire meal. I had the lumberjack which was so incredibly try and a tiny portion for an astronomical price. Came with two slices of sour dough that weren’t even buttered and the plate did not have a single gram of any sauce. My mouth was dryer than the sahara desert. A friend had the Musli which consisted of brown fruit and looked incredibly unappetising. Nothing looked fresh, and no love went into creating the dishes. Upon paying, a different waitress didn’t even bother to ask how everything was. Over all, we left with a very bad taste in our mouths and will not...
