Title: Exceptional Experience at Willis Lane The atmosphere and ambiance of Willis Lane in Wellington have left an indelible impression on my mind. This vibrant and lively lane was an immersive experience of eclectic city life. The architecture is simply captivating, perfectly embodying the historic charm and contemporary spirit of Wellington. What caught my eye were the quaint and unique shops lining the path, offering a delightful variety of local and boutique items that make for amazing keepsakes and gifts. The array of cafes and restaurants is just as impressive, providing an incredible selection of cuisines. Every plate I tasted was a culinary delight, with farm-fresh ingredients and original flavors that left me wanting more. Willis Lane's strategic location means notable attractions are within walking distance. The local residents and shop owners were incredibly friendly, willingly sharing tales of the community that brought the place alive. The Lane was clean and well maintained, testament to the thoughtful care of its tenants and the city. I must note that Willis Lane, besides being a feast for the eyes, is also a sensory treat, with the echo of laughter, the aromas wafting from the eateries, street musicians serenading the passersby, all capturing the vital essence of Wellington. In conclusion, a visit to Willis Lane is absolutely recommended, an experience that you will cherish long after you've left its charming alleyways. Your Wellington trip would indeed be incomplete without a visit to Willis Lane - true Kiwi spirit at its best!

We are from Auckland and decided to try our Commercial Bay equivalent at Willis Lane. As we entered down the escalators we got transported into an elite mall-level food court, nailing their aesthetics and atmosphere to a tee. There are so many food options to choose from, and they’re not your basic, everyday options that you see at your local mall, but flavours that aren’t often showcased in the NZ food industry. From Korean to American, Mexican to Thai and Vietnam. That being said, we tried Crack Chicken and Rick’s Cheese Steaks. Service from both was exceptional and quite fast considering we went during peak lunch hour. Crack Chicken hit the spot, we loved the rice bowl with seasoned brown rice, salads and fried chicken. Portion’s were just right, we had a lot leftover. The cheesesteak was just what you need on a busy day, had a beef cheesesteak on a soft baguette which was packed to the brim, coated with a generous layer of cheese sauce. We also had fries on the side, but they’re not out of the world, just salt, pepper and cheese sauce. Overall, very impressed with what we experienced, we recommend to anyone in the area or those visiting from another city, especially Auckland! Better than our commercial bay.

Admittedly it was with morbid curiosity that I subjected myself to this. I saw the “promo” photo so I knew there was a likelihood that this would be terrible but I try to be optimistic when trying new dining experiences... Nope! A picture says a thousand words - all of them negative. This was easily the worst burger I’ve had in my entire history of eating beef within buns. The XL chicken cutlet was incinerated to a gum-eviscerating char - hardly the golden crunch I would hope for. The chicken was as chewy as an orthotic inner sole. The bun disintegrated almost immediately leaving me to finger the remaining shards of overcooked chook. The generic crinkle-cut fries had that immediately recognizable back-of-the-freezer taint that no amount of paprika dust can cover up. The single slice of processed cheese was an insult to the spirit of WOAP. And the final insult - the raw onion ensured the bad taste would stay in my mouth for the rest of the day. My advice to other Wellington On A Platers - only get this if you think a can of Coke Zero is worth $28.

What a rip off. I get that its new but there's no excuse for the disgusting prices in this place. Its the kind of place you'll visit once perhaps to see what all the noise is about, maybe had a meal and never ever return... unless you've got more money than brains. I walked right out when I saw basic chips were over $8. Get a grip, they weren't even loaded. Then there's the entertainment areas which are so compact they're better suited to 5 year olds. And yes, you have to pay through the nose in those too, making bringing your kids in less than appealing. Overall a nice coat of paint on a tired old place but their exorbitant pricing and cramped seating with little to no room makes you feel like a sardine on a bench with wet paint. The hype will pass as people get wise to how they can't afford to keep coming back and this place will wind up like the last one, with sparse regulars who can't be bothered walking somewhere better, and distinct coating of grease over everything. Update for owner: your prices are not comparable, but thanks for ignoring every other point I made to focus solely on pricing. With people spending less and less and more businesses closing as a result, you're not doing anything to encourage people to buy, so enjoy it while it lasts, I expect you to represent the former underground willis,...
