The public is enjoying and making the most of Frank Kitts Park both day and night. From free yoga and fitness classes, guitar and other instrumental busking and singing performances and outdoor concerts, find also the Astrological Society out and about in this good weather with their telescopes to share a bout of star and moon-gazing with interested passersby.

FKP is also popular with strollers, joggers, bikers, etc. and friends who meetup over coffee or an ice-cream from the nearby kiosks. Find yet more amusement along this stretch of the waterfront especially during the warmer months. Kayaks, yachts, paddle boards and dogs are all fixtures of the picturesque landscape as are shutterbugs and interesting, globe-trotting tourists who will often share a yarn or two with you if given half a chance.

PS: All the best to Pierre, our fitness trainer from France whose 2 photos you can see at Frank Kitts Park, while offering free WOWs (Wellington Open Workouts) when he was here but who has just left for Japan. Merci beaucoup...

A lush, little park right on the Wellington Waterfront that hosts many events, including music festivals, because of its handy location to the city and harbour. It's a regular melting spot for buskers, strollers, joggers, families & tourists who enjoy the waterfront and its many amenities, including bars & eateries. The upper deck is often popular with tourists & viewers of firework displays because of its greater scenic & vantage views of the lagoon & harbour. There's even a wee slide to keep kids entertained if holding a family...

Lovely little park and play area on Wellington's waterfront close to the CBD. Ideal as a spot to have your lunch away from the office during the week or a nice place for the kids to play during the weekend. Frank Kitts Park also provides space to exercise for the grownups. The playground with it's iconic lighthouse slide is rather unique and the views from the top of the slide are worth checking out even for the older kids. The park definitely adds to Wellington's waterfront experience and is worth...

Names after the former mayor, Sir Francis Joseph Kitts. This is a beautiful open space that is right along the waterfront. An amphiteater for picnics and events that can be reserved. The playground is a series of connected spaces with a cute maritime theme. There are climbing nets and swing sets and places for the adults to sit. You'll also find sculptures and walking areas. Leashed dogs are permitted.
