Bread and beans /Machan Restaurant CBD — Restaurant in Waitematā

Just want to review the place, great cabinet food, fantastic coffee and excellent management. I just want to add, because I saw somebody wrote that the place is a goldmine but he wasn’t satisfied with the salami that is cut in half and has only got lettuce, however none of that is true, in fact the salami is not cut in this place, and the bread is called corda not baguette, it does have cheese, butter and the salami is rolled not cut so it can fit within the bread, it cost $8.50 and is one of the most simple and famous sandwiches. The place provides all press coffee if you didn’t know that is the best coffee in New Zealand. In regards to management, the people in this place have been doing hospitality for over 20 years. So the definition of this small coffee shop here, is that the cabinet food is always fresh, with the biggest range of food as far as cabinet food can go. We stopped by on Boxing Day to grab a bite here based on reviews of their vegan option. However, despite Google indicating that it’s open the restaurant was closed with a note saying that it’s closed from December 16, 2022 to January 16, 2023. It would have been great if the restaurant updated their hours of operation on Google so patrons wouldn’t make the trek there...

Best cafe in the area. Excellent, reliable coffee, very tasty cabinet food. Quick and friendly service, although pretty busy in the mornings. Cheapest coffee for miles if you buy a prepaid card! Works out to $4.20 for a large coffee.
