I recently stayed at your hotel and feel compelled to share my disappointment regarding the condition of the property and the apparent lack of care from the management. Despite its convenient location, several aspects of the hotel left much to be desired. Firstly, the on-site parking is prohibitively expensive, which is frustrating for guests. Upon entering my room, I was greeted with a strong smell of curry, which was unpleasant. The carpet appeared extremely worn and seemed like it hadn't been shampooed in years. The mattress was overly soft and unsupportive; unless you're very light, you sink uncomfortably into it. The bathroom fittings were outdated, with parts of the sink missing, towels were like rugs, worn out and the dishwasher was malfunctioning. Although these issues were tolerable for my short stay, they reflect poorly on the hotel's upkeep. It is clear that the management or owners are not investing adequately in maintaining the property. The neglect is evident and affects the overall guest experience negatively. Based on this stay, I do not plan to return to this hotel, as it does not meet acceptable standards. On a positive note, the service provided by the staff was exceptional. Special recognition goes to Danah, Andy, and the rest of the team, whose professionalism and warmth were the highlights of my stay. They were incredibly polite, consistently brought smiles to customers' faces, and were remarkably helpful. Their efforts truly stood out amidst the disappointing conditions of the hotel. I sincerely hope the management recognizes and rewards them appropriately, as they are the sole reason for any positive memory of my stay. It is unfortunate that such a dedicated and amazing team is let down by the poor state of the hotel. Improvements in the facility's maintenance and management's attention to detail are urgently needed. If these issues are addressed, the hotel could significantly enhance its reputation and guest experience.

I have been driving daily for 3 weeks alone around the north island visiting family and researching family tree. All I wanted this night was a quiet night in front of the tv not having to talk to anyone, a coffee and a soft bed. All I got was a coffee. Extremely disappointed. I booked a studio so I could watch tv from bed. Well it took staff over an hour trying to get the tv to work that is after they searched the room, under visions etc for the remote. I had unpacked my things ie bathroom, clothes for the next day, plugged in laptop etc. The room was filthy, stains on carpet. There was no room to get into the bed except from the foot end and climb in. However I didn’t do that as they moved me to a 2 bedroom apartment So I packed everything up, moved myself into the new room. Unpacked again. Turned the tv on with the remote I was told to take from the other room No reception again, staff come back, re-tune the tv and bingo. I have tv. I go get subway for dinner come back walk past the tv and knock it. As it sits on a broken table near the door. Crap no tv. I give up go to bed and use my laptop. The floor however looked and probably felt more comfortable than the bed. I hardly slept due to the hardness of the bed. Staff through this endeavour were professional and polite. It took me over an hour and a half though to actually be settled in a room Location perfect though. Noise was not good. You hear everything from the street and they had a kids choir at the hotel who practiced outside the entrance to the hotel right below my room. Yay. Although their voices were stunning I was not in the mood. Rubbish scattered through lobby and no parking was available even though in website it says parking available. So I had to drive around and find parking and walk back in the rain. I have stayed at other VR hotels including queen street and never had issues like this. Absolutely disgusting

Unfortunately pre booked 3 “non refundable” stays . Which you apparently can’t change days on either. 2 horrible stays and one more to go Lesson learnt Stay 2: The room was better, but still dated with a few broken bits of furniture and the mismatched cutlery, incomplete white ware etc as before. I thought idiosyncrasies aside perhaps the second time would be better. Well I was in for a shock - blood on the mattress. Would take that rating to a negative if I could Stay 1: There is really nothing great about this place other than the price if you are lucky enough to get a decent deal. This place is located next to the old downtown police station which is now closed. The city mission is next door and houses some interesting characters that are looking to cause trouble. Cutlery, plates and cups all are mismatched and not a complete set. Some cases chipped and stained. Some Staff are polite. For some reason they insist on copying your ID and credit card which is not needed but if you have pre paid they have you by the ***** Talked to the morning desk duty receptionist to confirm checkin procedures which resulted in a bit of gaslighting about what’s on the website and a great amount of rhetoric on how VR is the greatest. Same staff person also promised the shower would be repaired but jack all was done. The room is tired, carpets stained, furniture showing a great deal of wear and tear. The window in the room was scratched up The highlights of the stay were the shower that was leaking at the head so you got a lovely jet of water up to the ceiling that then came down on you cold. Cleaning staff are good but they have their hands full and look very worn down. For some reason they cleaned the room at 7 in the evening a bit of a odd time but could have been a one off. Honestly unless you get a good deal take your money elsewhere. Do not book a non refundable room.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at this motel, and I have to say that it was an utterly horrifying experience. From the moment I arrived, I was met with incompetence and hostility. When I called to ask about parking, the operator argued with me and disputed the information on their website, leaving me feeling frustrated and confused. Upon entering the motel, I was struck by the terrible state of the facilities. The lock systems on the doors were half-broken, making it feel like I was trapped in a maze from a horror movie. The hallways were piled high with bags of rubbish and stenched of dirty laundry, which was beyond disgusting. The lift was ancient and made spine-chilling noises that left me feeling like it was going to break down at any moment. But the real horror began when I finally made it to my room. The bloodstains on the carpet and sheets were deeply distressing, and the bathroom was in an absolutely horrific state. The toilet cistern was cracked, and the shower had black mold growing on the wall. The ceiling in the bathroom was sunken and looked like it was about to collapse, and there were old empty soap dispensers still hanging on the walls with replacements just sitting on top, and the walls had smears of something on them that I couldn't even bear to think about. The wifi service at the hotel was nothing short of a complete disaster, leaving me completely frustrated and disappointed. Despite multiple attempts to call the kiosk for assistance, I received no answer, and was forced to brave the unsettling elevator ride down eight floors to inquire in person. After being told the internet would be available shortly, I waited for hours, only to find that the service was still not functioning and wouldn't be that evening. Despite the staff attempts to Hotspot me to their personal phones, the problems between devices made it impossible for me to conduct any business, and I had to waste valuable time working from a cafe the next day. To top it off, the television remote was missing the plate over the batteries and was covered in some kind of unspeakable gunk.

Overall, I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience was at this motel. The service was beyond poor, the facilities were in complete disrepair, and the room was a nightmare come to life. If you have any sense of self-preservation, I implore you to look elsewhere for your...
