I was really excited to try Rude Boy Deli & Eatery, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The cafe is conveniently located near City Works Depot, so there is ample parking and a short walk to the cafe. The ambiance is welcoming with well-lit spaces and a variety of seating options.
The menu at Rude Boy Deli & Eatery is extensive, offering made-to-order dishes as well as a wide range of cabinet items including desserts, pastries, noodles, sandwiches, and more.
I ordered the hot dog, and while the presentation was lovely, the taste fell short. The bun was too hard, making it difficult to bite into, and the hot dog itself was tough and hard to pull apart. I only ate half of it there and ended up discarding the rest at home, which was disappointing considering the price of $26 for a "gourmet" hot dog.
My partner had the Creamy Mushrooms, which was average and left him unsatisfied. Another person in our group ordered noodles from the cabinet but received them in a chipped bowl. It was a bit of a letdown.
Although the serving sizes were decent, the lack of flavor was a disappointment that the portion sizes couldn't compensate for. The restaurant wasn't very busy that morning, so there was no justification for the subpar taste of the food. I believe this place has potential but definitely needs to do more taste testing.
I do want to mention that the service we received from the wait staff was great. Perhaps it was just an off day in the kitchen. However, considering the numerous cafe dining options available in Auckland Central, I won't be rushing back to Rude Boy...

I went there today and one of the waitresses put a wrong order through-not a big deal at all but she didn’t even apologized for charging me more or for putting a wrong order through. Second thing: someone then offered me a refund and when I went to the cashier they said they couldn’t give me a refund because they don’t have Cash. I mean seriously? They also couldn’t give me a refund back to my card because the manager wasn’t there? Well then call the manager? How is it even possible that theres not a manager on duty. Don’t offer me a refund if you can’t give me one. Then I said they should just give me a voucher/gift card even though I know I wont come back as I dont live close by. Funny thing: they didn’t give me a voucher/gift card at all.The girl behind the till just printed a piece of paper from the docket printer and wrote down that I have a $13 Credit. Wow!I bet if I will ever want to pay with that piece of paper they’ll say its faked or so.There wasn’t even a signature or something on it until I asked if someone could sign it as a proof. All in one: A really disappointing experience and I’ll never go back there. I work in hospitality too so I’m really patient etc.and it’s okay to make a mistake we all do. But not apologizing or offering something you can’t offer is actually a big no go. At least I got a free meal which was really friendly but the rest was disappointing. And I didn’t get the meal as an apology I got because otherwise they would throw it away(said...

Been meaning to get here for ages and finally managed to! Four of us in for brunch, and man did it not disappoint.
Coffee - banging. Up there with the best in CBD. Food - so good! Looks; purposeful rustic/composed mess Taste; on point for all four plates. Taste before you season! Size; probably just right for most people. Fried chicken was a beautiful mound inciting immediate envy when it hit the table, our 2x mushroom bene were good size really and probably just the restrained carbs that made it seem a little smaller (but not small!!), and the creamy musrooms was a good size too. Service - in a half stars rating might have come down the wee notch over some small miscommunication between staff but other than that, really good. Attentive, menu schooled, and assertive - great stuff.
The cabinet is stacked, and BEAUTIFUL. Overflowing with both sweet and savoury temptations, which I couldn't completely resist. Delicious wee peanut butter bliss-ball and puffy doughnut filled with silky smooth and tasty custard "to go" both went down a treat later. Only comment would be ratio of dough to filling was tipped a little in favour of the former for my liking. Will try another one next time though, of course.
Accidentally-on-purpose lost my photos, so will have to go back - what a shame!!
Highly...
