I had heard of Odettes from a few different people and decided to try it out for myself. Came here on a Sunday for brunch. We got a table without having to wait. The atmosphere was nice sitting outside, though there is no music playing outside, this wasn't so much of an issue but could enhance the atmosphere. I noticed that inside looked a little dark, the only lighting being from windows. The coffee took some time to come out, and the food followed shortly after. The food was high quality and presented well. I was impressed with the food. Just a note: Parking on a Sunday is $3 for 30 minutes (which is not long enough) which then forces you to pay $6 for all day parking. Somewhat annoying that parking was not free/cheaper. Given the cost of parking, I probably wont make this place a regular, but I do look forward to coming here occasionally in the future.

Visited based on a last minute recommendation on our fleeting visit through Aukland. And thank god we did. We were told the brunch was good, and although we weren't particularly adventurous (still jet-lagged), the packed eggs on sourdough was delicious, with eggs cooked just how we liked them... Which is different from each other. The fresh apple juice is divine and the fresh mint tea was just what I was after. (Whilst I didn't have the whipped feta, because feta is, by definition, horrid... Our recommending friend would not stop raving about it, so I include an honorary mention of it on his behalf!) I'm so grateful for the tip, because I would have (and did) walk straight past the cafe in a car park! The toilets are also really pleasant! Not always considered when visiting somewhere but I was quite surprised how nice they were!

i only had 1 menu there, porriage, as i wanted a warm meal on cold day. i strolled all the way here due to its high ranking on googlemap and tripadvisor, i am afriad i have to give my rating based on a single dish i ordered.. to start, service is slow... i was there at 1045 on weekday with restaurent perhaps 3/4 full but delivery of mere porridage was a good 15min wait, i had full breakfast served to me in the past quicker than that at other venue. on flipside busy means its popular. then comes food... ok it was disapppinting that porriage was served very cool or at best lukewarm... i could taste Oat pieces as if they are rice grains and i question if it was just not cooked. at that point i was not sure of thats how NZ does it porridage, lukewarm oat pieces... i gently ask manager if i could take the bill without any complaints as i only ate a spoon she was concerned, i explained it wad just too cold... she quickly offered to remake new one hot, i was pressed for time as i had flight to catch but i obliged as i was intrigued how different it would be and also felt i should allow them to make it right. second round took mere 5min and it was served very HOT which was good. However it wad still the grainy porriage and not the stick oatmeal type i preferred i would have given rating of 2 had the manager not proactively resolved the matter, but for their service i would rank it 3. mind you i simply didnt like this style doesnt mean it is bad... others may easily rank it 5 i would try again to order something else.

I did not enjoy my time here at all. The service was bad and the vibes of the staff was as bad . As soon as I walked in they looked at me weirdly they did not greet me with a smile or even looked interested . And as soon as I sat on the table the waiter was on top of my head saying what are you going to order , I advised to give me more time as my partner is not here yet and as soon as he walked in she came straight up saying what u ordering and my partner was kind of cornered to choose quickly and when she saw him like that she left right way in a rude way like she is not going to wait up for us to make our mind . Secondly the food is unbelievably small portion and pricey . Thirdly we orderd a tea pot and then I asked for hot water she refused to give me to top up my tea and said if you want tea you will have to order another tea pot , literally every cafe I went to would give us hot water it's not gonna reduce ur profit we spent almost 100 Dollars for 2 people it's not gonna harm if you bring us hot water. Will definitely not go back and feeling disappointed and frustrated as it ruined the rest of my day 🙃

Disappointing experience. We came to this place due to its good reviews, but we can't understand why is it so well rated. First of all we had to wait like 30 mins to get a table, we would understand if at least the food is good... But besides the outside waiting, we still had to wait for other 30 mins to get our coffees and dishes. I ordered a "SWEET crepe" where is the "sweet" at all? If they don't add the Hershey's chocolate sauce it would have been completely flavorless, besides it was a small portion too. My husband got a the Odette's Complete, nothing special at all, not a nice sauce or dressing nothing that gives it a nice flavor, flavorless too, His hot chocolate was tiny size! Lucky I ordered a takeaway cup to get a regular size. They charge you for the paywave system like if they had a small business. It's not worth the wait and the money.

I got to try this place for the first time during restaurant month. The staff were pleasant but felt that there could of been a bit more effort explaining the menu options or at least offering to explain it as it wasn't too busy at the time (shortly after 4pm on a Thursday). We went with the 4 course banquet menu with the glass of bubbles (had to clarify with the waitress which one on the drinks menu that would be). The food was tasty and we really enjoyed the fresh ingredients they use in all their dishes. Very elegant interior, just be mindful of the lamps on the walls because they hang quite low and I knocked my head on one when getting up from my seat. It can even be a romantic environment, as the two people next to us seem to be on a date. There are also outdoor seating options.
