I had a great experience here. The walk from the Intercity Bus stop to the hotel was quick and easy. I noticed upon arrival that there wasn't a ramp to get up, but during my stay upon leaving my room for the night I did notice a ramp.
The service was amazing, the vibe of the hotel was really cozy, I ate at the Vie restaurant on the night I arrived, I had a delicious three cheese pizza and a tequila sunrise. I also added the buffet breakfast to my stay, it was very nice, they had a decent array of breakfast foods. The Chia pudding could of used more flavour, as I only got flavour from the fruit. The mushrooms as well could of used a bit more flavour, but other than that every thing else was yummy as!.
My room was good, although it had a view of an apartment complex, but that's what you get when you're staying in the middle of the city. The amenities were great, having a coffee bar was good as I always need a coffee. Especially when I come back from a day of walking around the CBD, I can chill and have a coffee. The only confusing thing about the room, is that with the lights, you need to put your hotel keycard in the little slot next to the door, it was confusing for me for about a minute until I figured it out.
Another downside I would say is the payment options when you book, so for me I like to pay in advance, they did give that option but you just had to pay the booking fee, and then you pay the rest upon your arrival. I had to email them about this, as when I checked my bank only $100 got taken out, so make sure you have money saved up upon your arrival.
Other than that, I had a wonderful stay, thank you to the staff and the cleaning staff for your amazing work, and I hope to come back and stay again another...
Read moreDisappointing experience. The staff were lovely and accommodating throughout out but the actual room was not the best and we will not be coming back. The room itself was completely bare, with nothing but a bed in the room, no armchair or small dining area like you would normally get. It was just a bed in a tiny postage stamp of a room. There was no carpet on the floor which we found strange, it was all laminate flooring, the bed was on wheels so coupled with the laminate flooring the bed on wheels it moved constantly, you only had to move slightly and the whole bed moved - it was awful! We got towels and hand towels only, no face clothes for washing off makeup and the towels themself were the smallest towels I've ever known... We booked for the buffet breakfast on our first morning and was disappointed again, yes it did have most of the normal buffet breakfast items, but everything was pretty flavourless and sad. If you didn't want a cooked breakfast you would be left even more disappointed as there were no pastries etc like you would normally get, just coco pops, cornflakes and a few slices of ham and camembert. We parked for our 2 days in the carpark which was only small but we still managed to get a park each day, however one of the days we were unable to move the car as somebody parked in front of us! The location was pretty good and the staff were friendly but the actual facilities and the room was not good at all and we will not be back...
Read more10/10 is due to Abraham’s service at the Vie restaurant and the room service was brilliant, speedy and well presented. I experienced the best butter chicken I’d ever had and a 5 star service I thought had disappeared from hospitality.
Very good value staying here. The parking was good for a night in the city. The place felt like I went on holiday outside of Auckland. Class without the snobbery, the atmosphere was blessed with nice music morning and night with absolutely beautiful pieces of art. It’s not hard to see why the evening art classes are a feature. I hope to do one myself one day.
We stayed in the studio room with 2 double beds. View wise it’s not luxurious but we were very happy quality value wise. Bathroom was on the small side but I really liked the amenities. Decor is modern basic. Walls could do with a spot clean but otherwise the room was well presented and clean. I loved the second tv in the kitchenette area. The desk chair wasn’t the best style only because the legs come out on an angle so with little kiddies I would be aware of this.
We would definitely stay again. The directions from the reception desk to access parking was clear and easy to follow. I only wish they had a small games area for children but I think that is only because we picked a very stormy night to stay and so our entertainment options were limited.
Breakfast was good value and very nice. So I would also recommend booking that for a stress...
