I saw this viral Toasted Marshmallow Hot Choco from Urban List and was quite excited to try it. I was in the city today and decided I wouldn't go home to Waikato without tasting it. So, I braved the pouring rain and popped into this fancy chocolate shop.

I was there to order the toasted marshmallow hot choco, but unfortunately, they had run out since it was late afternoon. After Byron, the owner, asked me where I was from, I told him I had traveled from Waikato and was determined to try the toasted marshmallow hot choco. Ready to leave with just a normal cup of hot choco that I ordered, Byron said, "I need to find something for you, just hang on for a minute." He grabbed a cup of Toasted Marshmallow Hot Choco from the bench and said, "Actually, someone ordered this but didn't come back, so you can have it. I'll just warm it up for you."

I was over the moon! And he gave it to me for free. This experience is unforgettable for me, as Byron didn't let me go back home disappointed. As I was eating and sipping my hot choco while the rain poured hard outside, it was the warmest feeling I ever had in my life. The drink itself was absolutely delicious—the perfect blend of rich chocolate and toasted marshmallow, creating a heavenly, comforting treat.

I highly encourage everyone to support this business. Their exceptional customer service and delectable hot choco deserve all the praise. Don’t miss out on this...

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of visiting this delightful chocolate shop and it exceeded all expectations!

The premises were SPOTLESS, and the bright, clean interior created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we stepped in. The team was not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable, making our visit all the more enjoyable. Byron, head chocolate connoisseur took the time to take us through several of the processes and research he had done before he turned into the modern day Willy Wonka - super interesting!

The prices were incredibly reasonable for the exceptional quality of their products. And let me tell you about their hot chocolate - we were in heaven! I opted for the milk chocolate, while my partner grabbed the 70%. The flavour was so rich and decadent that we've been daydreaming about it ever since. We can't wait for our next trip into the city so we can have another taste drools. We took home a six pack of choccies to taste test later - and we loved every single one. I also grabbed two chocolate lollypops for my nephews, and I have quickly skyrocketed to fav aunty status.

I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their exquisite chocolates. This place is a must-visit for any chocolate enthusiast, or someone just wanting a yummy treat! Thank you for providing such an exceptional experience Byron! We will...

This is one of those hidden little gems on the back streets that run parallel to Queen Street. Queen Street gets all tourists and has the main attractions but those in the know would head up one of those side streets and get an amazing hot chocolate at this shop.

It's one of those streets that has modern paving stones. Large wide spaces, and the place looks positively deserted on a late Sunday morning. That could be why there were so little people around. But it was open and it promised hot chocolate.

Stepping in is like heading into a little mini Willy Wonka wonderland. The decorations were positively Instagram-able. For anyone crazy about their chocolate, this is the place to be. Sure, it's a tad expensive but what do you expect from a boutique chocolatier?

A great place to get anything for any friends/family/colleagues who are crazy about their chocolate - bars proclaiming "Congratulations" and the like abound. Something smaller? There are pralines aplenty for you to choose from.

We got ourselves a hot chocolate and we were given two delicious bits of fudge dusted in cocoa powder. Said hot chocolate was delightful because it had hints of malt in it which added a nice change of flavour from just plain hot chocolate which is either melted chocolate or dark cocoa powder.

Can't wait to come back and try out the other...

The crispy, frigid winter air could only be healed by one solace…Cocoa Wilds’ transformative hot chocolate and biscuit. Now where does one begin? The warmly toasted and delicately light marshmallow dissolves on the tongue, leaving a trace of sweet, sticky sugar. The gooey, treacly gelatin evokes childhood memories of campsites and comfort, warmth illuminating the limbs against the unforgiving winter winds. I submerge my whimsical marshmallow in the rich, velvety hot chocolate, dusted in cocoa. Worlds collide. Wrapping my bitter fingers around the warming, comforting cup, I take a sip…simply indulgent and delectable. The aromatic flavours tease the senses, playfully luring the drinker. But one cannot omit to recognise the centrepiece of such a spectacle…the chocolate chip cookie. Crispy and brittle, yet deceptively tender and soft. Fresh from the oven, the chocolate chip cookie steals the spotlight from the silky beverage. The senses are satisfied. Decadent chocolate warmly melting, exuding its cocoa-y goodness, contrasted by the buttery brown biscuit, as flakes of salt play with the tastebuds…enticing.

Ambiance The Chocolate Emporium is a study in elegance, with a chic, inviting atmosphere. While the space is well-designed, it’s not quite expansive enough to comfortably accommodate dine-in patrons, making it more of a grab-and-go destination. Chocolate Selection The shop offers a wide range of chocolates, each crafted with noticeable care. Among the diverse offerings, the Dubai chocolate bar stands out, reflecting both local flavor and sophisticated packaging. All the chocolates sampled were fresh and flavorful, a testament to their quality. Service The staff here are particularly noteworthy for their friendliness and engagement. They enhance the shopping experience, offering helpful suggestions with genuine enthusiasm. The addition of fancy cups elevates the service, adding a refined touch to your visit. Pricing The pricing at The Chocolate Emporium leans towards the higher end. However, the quality of both the products and the overall experience reflects this premium positioning.
