UPDATE After posing my original review below, they got in contact with me and offered to recut my hair for free and give me an extra hair treatment. I was unsure, but was told I’d be seeing one of their lead stylists so I agreed. I was prepared to add to my original 2 star rating after I got the cut I had wanted. Unfortunately I’m taking away 1 of the stars as the customer service was actually worse this time. The cut is closer to what I wanted, but the layers are still horribly unblended and looks like something I could’ve done at home myself. Despite reiterating that I didn’t want any overall length off, my hair is now so short it verges on a mullet. Not only is the cut still bad, but the stylist mentioned my original review durIng our conversation. It was a bit awkward, and got worse when he started defending the receptionists behaviour from last time and talking about how social media was so detrimental. Totally unprofessional. To top it all off, he was rushing through my cut so much that he got shampoo and water in my eyes, as well as sending me off at the end with a face covered in little pieces of hair. I don’t even know if I received the free treatment as the whole process was so rushed. I will not be coming back, nor would I recommend this salon to anyone.

Original review: Really not sure what to put here. My stylist was lovely and I was happy with the colour, but I got home, and the haircut is not what I asked for at all. I thought it may have been the way it was blow dried - as I barely ever blow dry my hair - but now I see the ends are still so blunt and there are no layers to my hair despite me asking for them. Just feeling a bit upset as I spent over $300 and am not happy with the result. Side note - the receptionist was very pushy for product sales and didn’t even know any other brands apart from what they sold. She left a very sour taste...

I visited the Auckland Toni&Guy salon today for a haircut and I have to say, as a person who never leave reviews, I was so impressed by my experience that I felt I had to take the time to write one. Everyone in the salon was professional and welcoming from the moment I got there. Salon assistant Lily looked after me and I enjoyed a cup of great coffee while I was waiting for my appointment time (I showed up a bit early). Style Director Chhaly came over and after a really good chat about what I was looking for, I felt completely confident that I was in for a really great haircut (this type of confidence happens for me about 5% of the time in hair salons). Lily then gave me one of the best shampoos and scalp massages I’ve probably ever had and when it was time for the haircut, Chhaly was as brilliant as his reviews will tell you. This could be one of the best haircuts I’ve had before and I honestly didn’t think I could get that excited about a new haircut at all. It's hard to find somewhere where service and experience meet and marry so perfectly. This Salon is where the Waters meet.

As a 26y/o Male it's super intimidating to find a place to go for a haircut, especially in Auckland. I have thick half-cast hair and have found it soo difficult to do anything with it in the past. I'm used to feeling super limited to opting for a fade, or taper, and neither have never been my cup of tea. I made it to my appointment with little expectation of what I wanted, little did I know the service I was about to receive.

Diane, you are an absolute Gem. I'm so happy I got to meet you. You made me feel so looked after and comfortable. We worked together on a direction the Cut could go in, and with total grace and poise they made me look cool and feel so confident about my new haircut. I know They having been doing what they do for a good belt of time, and they without a doubt know their stuff. Smashed it!

Really, I couldn't recommend this salon more.

I left so happy. And look forward to visiting again in the future.
