I have eaten at this place about 10 times now and after it all I can say thier meat is delicious from the chicken/fish/beef and pork belly pieces so good. They have a range of raw vegies from onions, sausages, lettuce, potato's and also a selection of spicy or somewhat caramelised side dishes very yum.
They have a few sauces to eat/cook with soy sauce sesame oil and I think 3 or 4 more and lastly their hot cooked food section is really yummy from their spring rolls to 2 kinds of beef meat dishes they had also especially their chicken nibbles taste really good.
Grill is good takes a bit to get used to changing the aluminium foil every 2 or 3 times its used also oiling up the foil using a onion dipped in some kinda oil really helps.
Lastly the most difficult part in my opinion to get used to or rather they should attempt to work on.... Is the ventilation/air-conditioning. Really needs better air cycles through when it's peaking as it get really really steamy the walls start to condensate its really not nice sitting their all puffy and uncomfortable like it's fine for the first 20mins becuase you are hungry and eating but the rest feels like a chore, please please please a better system for ventilation/air-conditioning will BOOST your customers in and out lol.
Above all I would rate it highly, I love this place and I'm going again with friends and family very...
Read moreA buffet Korean BBQ restaurant in the heart of the Auckland CBD that serves great options of meat with a fresh side dishes, at an affordable price.
First thing I noticed was that there seemed to be a lot of student customers - which is a good sign to say that the value of food for money was great for being in the cbd.
The meat available were fresh and topped up timely. The fried chicken was delicious, along with the fried rice available being great and the tteokbokki was cooked perfectly.
The one thing was that instructions were not particularly clear on when to change the foil on top of the bbq plate, and this was self service to do. A sign or an explanation would be great.
The restaurant appeared old and a little run down, particularly looking at the ceiling.
Despite being winter, all the front doors were open and ceiling old school fans were running. But due to the hear of the bbqs it wasnt ever cold.
Clothes do smell alot of the BBQ, so be prepared to go with clothes knowing you will need to wash once home.
Will likely be back again as the value offered within the heart of the CBD...
Read moreDaebak BBQ was great!
First of all was the meat, Daebak BBQ has a good selection of meat that were really fresh and delicious. There was also fish and squid that you could cook as well. There wasn't much vegetables though, lettuce and onion were the only vegetarian option that I found, but the lettuce would run out very quickly. The Sauces in there tasted really well with the meat.
The prices were $20 for lunch and $23 for dinner, which was a fair price since you could eat as much as you want. Staff were great and very welcoming.
It was really warm when we entered so I suggest if you are going there at night you wear something that you can take off. There were a lot of people when I entered. If you are bringing a lot of people the space might be a bit small for you to put your plates and food.
Overall, Daebak is great place if you are going for Korean BBQ with a few friends there are also some already cooked food in there such as Korean sushi (gimbap/Kimbap) and fried rice. But the place isn't really suggested for vegeterians. But is a great place to...
