Unpleasant Service at Daily Bread - Newmarket
I recently had the unfortunate experience of encountering less-than-satisfactory service at Daily Bread - Newmarket. It was Today, 11 June 2023, a Sunday morning, shortly before noon, when I decided to indulge in some of the bakery's reputed donuts. Sadly, the experience I had was far from the pleasant one I had anticipated.
The staff member taking orders, a lady with a fuller figure, seemed to be having a difficult day. We can all understand the occasional rough day, but it's crucial to not let personal issues bleed into professional customer interactions, especially in the hospitality industry.
The customer ahead of me wanted to adjust his order, a routine request in any bakery or café. However, the staff member's response was visibly annoyed and far from professional. Her frustration was apparent and her service was dismissive and unaccommodating.
When it came my turn to order, I had hoped for a different, more positive interaction. Regrettably, I was met with the same chilly reception. While the stress of the food service industry is understood, it doesn't warrant an inhospitable attitude towards patrons who are merely trying to enjoy their bakery experience.
Writing this review is regrettable, as I genuinely believe that a single individual's behavior shouldn't define an entire business. However, being the face of the company during my visit, her conduct sadly clouded my overall impression of Daily Bread - Newmarket. Her demeanor seemed at odds with the basic tenet of customer service, which is to ensure a pleasing and satisfying customer experience.
I sincerely hope the management at Daily Bread - Newmarket will take the necessary steps to rectify this issue. Until then, potential customers should be prepared for a potential lapse in customer service.
I am a firm believer in second chances and remain hopeful for a better experience on my next visit. After all, we all have room for improvement and...
Read moreDaily Bread Morrow St. is my second home and a place I go to every saturday to get Ham & Cheese baguette or Ham & Cheese croissant. We love the experience here, and the food always amazing as well as the friendly staff. Unfortunately since the shop moved from being 1/2 Citta Design to 1/2 Suprette, there was also a change in the atmosphere and service. What is the biggest change is the tiny space, only a couple of tables, some interfering with the cabinet (where you line up to order). It feels very cramped and awkward, that we couldnt even stay and sit. It is now cut down to about 3 tables. The service was also different, the server seemed very stressed, which was fair enough as there was only one employee in the cafe - heating orders , putting more food out and making coffeee. The display cabinet was empty, and the extra pastries out the back. I will do not enjoy or look forward to going here as much anymore since the massive size decrease of the store, and the lack of...
Read moreI love daily bread for its baked goods and I continue coming back for that sole reason. The service received (twice) from this lady working at this branch is unbelievably disturbing and ruins the experience overall. She is exceptionally rude as no type of welcoming behavior is presented, of course being too occupied to leave her phone for less than two minutes. I don't need a smile or a hi, but why did this lady think its fine to throw the bag of croissant across the counter? Disgustingly disrespectful. I noticed the same review down below which saddens me to know she wasn't just having a bad day (or two). I visited Britomart multiple times and have not seen anything like this. Will continue to visit other locations but as of Newmarket, the service has been absolutely...
