We loved Starbucks all over the world as we are originally from San Francisco! We support Starbucks and when we moved here in NZ we still get Starbucks as we believed that they’re great! We just came from LA ..for holiday and SF for festive season. We had Starbucks mostly on our stay overseas as it is 5 minutes where we live. But to end the story short .. few days ago Tuesday we grab a venti size at Westfield Newmarket as we lived in Parnell , and wow you Starbucks NZ Newmarket charged 15 percent surcharge because it’s holiday !!! We were shocked! We know the rules in NZ that there’s public holiday surcharge here when you go out because employers pay their staff days in lieu and time and a half ., but why customer has to contribute about their holiday pay by working that day? Employers should pay them not me!Yes we tipped in Starbucks overseas but it’s an option as there’s a jar , but paying Starbucks NZ with 15 percent surcharge it’s not fair and very disappointing.. that’s why we always goi g overseas every 6 months because we do not believed on a 15 surcharge on public holiday here and it’s not because we are cheap but because we do not want to give and help employers to pay their staff working on a public holiday! Same with restaurants here we loved fine dining but not on public holiday..living in NZ is already very expensive but charging 15 percent on public holiday is such a disappointing one .. and we only need Venti coffee come one! It’s not a champagne on a flute fancy glass isn’t it? It’s just a coffee in a venti...
Read moreThis was the worst Starbucks experience I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered a strawberry açai lemonade and it came with the half of the cup with ice cubes. I complained about it and the guy brought me a half of a cup of lemonade without ice, which was not my request, just less ice. To ruin still more my experience, the silverware that came with the food was disgustingly dirty. I complained about that too, and, instead of giving me a shiny clean ones, he barely wiped it off and gave it to me still extremely dirty!!!! I asked for the manager and the guy pointed out a girl “in charge”, who simply ignored me. She didn’t even bother to look at me, grabbed the ice-plenty cup and put that away. I wonder what she did with that drink… We’re Starbucks clients for at least a decade in Canada and never saw something like that. It seems that the name Starbucks does not mean good quality, good service, high sanitary standards and customer respect. This is the worst Starbucks ever. A little piece of advice: stay away...
Read moreStarbucks St Luke’s and CBD are far better than here. Staff are stupidly slow, it’s actually funny because I worked as a barista for 5 years and they’re acting like clowns in store. About 30 people outside waiting for online order. App says 2-7m prep time. Waits are about 20-50 minutes for an iced latte? Maybe it’s because the staff are laughing with each other? Or having long conversations with the customers? They stand around doing the bare minimum in rush hour. Also another thing irritating is on the app it charges u to change to sugar free syrup. Hire more staff. Honestly. Two girls fooling around doing nothing while crowds of customers wait outside for half an hour for an overpriced...
