We dined at the Newmarket branch last night, and I cannot wait to go back! Despite it being only their second night in service, the food was absolutely fantastic, and I truly hope this restaurant gets the patronage it deserves.

There were three of us, and although we did not have a huge appetite, what we ordered was more than enough – I even took leftovers home! The lamb Momo Sapta was fried and paired with a perfectly balanced Nepalese sauce made of tomatoes, capsicums, and onion. We also tried the chicken Sekewa and the Himalayan Chef Special Koyla Curry, both infused with a wonderful charcoal flavour that lingered beautifully on my palate.

I usually order medium spice, but to accommodate our party, we ordered everything mild. Surprisingly, this was perfectly spicy for me, and as someone used to a bit of heat, I think the higher spice levels could be too hot for some.

The drinks menu was uniquely created by the restaurant, offering a range of options that were both creative and distinctive. I ordered a Masala Coke, which I learned is a popular drink in Nepal. While it was an extremely unusual taste and not to my personal liking, the other two drinks were absolutely delicious.

Although two of these dishes were starters, the portions were generous and plenty for the three of us. As older diners with smaller appetites, we found the serving sizes perfect and very satisfying. This was my first experience with Nepalese cuisine, and it was truly memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Nepalese/Indian+ flavours – it is definitely...

“I Climbed the Butter Chicken Mountain and Found Inner Peace”

I came. I saw. I naan-ed.

Let me tell you, this Himalayan restaurant isn’t just serving food — it’s serving spiritual awakenings wrapped in melted cheese and smothered in creamy, buttery chicken glory.

The butter chicken? A saucy love letter from the gods of flavor. I legit considered asking it to marry me. Rich, creamy, mildly spiced — like a warm hug from a yeti who just learned how to cook. I would’ve licked the plate but I was in public and trying to pretend I have dignity.

And the cheese naan? Oh. My. Carb. It was like a gooey pillow of joy that made my mouth sing and my arteries question my life choices. I think I blacked out for a moment after the third bite and woke up with a cheese mustache and a new perspective on life.

The staff were friendly, the vibes were chill, and the food was so good I briefly considered moving to the Himalayas in search of the secret recipe. 10/10 would ascend this flavor mountain again.

Namaste, and...

!!!!! MUST TRY CHOW MEIN !!!!!

Hi All, This restaurant is one of the best in New Market, it is so close to the business and the quality of food is also very good. We ordered Chow Mein and Veg/Chicken Fried rice and I would say this is best in the town, the quality is just amazing, not only good but they have good amount of quantity as well. 1 portion can easily feed 2 people. The staff is also very friendly and one of my favorite Indian restaurants now. Should try the Chow Mein once here, as it is the best I ever had in whole of Auckland. Thanks you guys and great food!!

Nepali thali was just what we needed after roaming around Auckland city. I love Indian food (no hates) but having curry with lots of spices and food color made me sick, so we followed google map and went to Himalayan Fusion and had a perfect Nepali Thali. My family were satisfied ♥️ they served food as requested, no ginger in curry for my dad and no spices for my nephew 🥰 it was just like the meal I cook for my family; nice, plain, no food color.

Delicious!!!!!! we had the Jhol momo, specialty curry and garlic naan - portion wise all good for two people! We got the curry with the paneer and potato kofta - yum, but I think the spices would have complemented a meat option more, would love to have it with lamb next time! it was also a bit salty for us fyi but the NAAN!!!! WOW NAAN!!!!!!! thin but soft n chewy, with crispy edges! all you could ask for in a naan! best naan I've had in a while
