Came here for their first year anniversary for lunch. Such a long line to queue but we were lucky to have a seat so soon. Service is very good even for people who were lining up, they were offered warm water and seats while waiting. We ordered the takoyaki which was the best takoyaki I've had in NZ! Just the right crispiness outside and inside was perfect too. For the noodles, we got the prawn and sukiyaki beef. I much prefer the prawn one as the noodles was very creamy. Sukiyaki beef was also very good, but I felt it could add a little bit of sweetness to be like the actual sukiyaki beef taste but that is my preference. Definitely will be back again as they are so good.
Saw some reviews online and decided to give this a try. We ordered the agedashi tofu for starters, had 2 clams soup. Then we ordered the homura and roast beef signature noodle dish. The agedashi was the perfect starter, slightly crisp on outside. The sauce was slightly sweet and savoury with a hint of sour. This was very refreshing and makes you hungry for the mains. The noodles was super good, creamy for both dish. I prefer roast beef on myself which the beef was very tender and the sauce was savoury and slightly sweet. The homura one was little bit more spicy and have some seaweed taste. Both were made very good. The clam soup was just average and was not bad.

Read more5/5 Stars: A Game-Changing Japanese Dining Experience at Kajiken Auckland! We stumbled upon Kajiken Auckland after seeing enticing reels about this newcomer to the Japanese food scene. Specializing in Abura soba, a dry, soupless noodle dish, we were eager to try it out. Our order consisted of three Abura soba variations: the Roast Beef Abura Soba, Deep Fried Prawn Abura Soba, and The Original Abura Soba. Each dish boasted an impressive combination of flavors and textures. The Roast Beef Abura Soba, in particular, was a standout – the noodles were cooked to perfection, and the addition of crispy onions, scallion, and a raw egg added creaminess and depth. A pleasant surprise was the side of raw baby octopus, which was incredibly fresh and elevated by a special wasabi sauce. As wasabi enthusiasts, we thoroughly enjoyed this delightful treat. The staff at Kajiken Auckland were exceptionally friendly, always sporting warm smiles. While parking in downtown Auckland can be a challenge, we easily found a spot at the nearby AT's Victoria Car Park building. Overall, our experience at Kajiken Auckland was outstanding. With its unique Abura soba offerings, fresh ingredients, and welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant has earned a solid 5 stars from us. We can't wait to come back and explore more...

Oh my god 10/10 would recommend!
My friends got the original and sukiyaki beef. I tried a piece of sukiyaki beef, it was excellent and the friend that ordered that said she'd get it again.
I loved my roast beef, but the only regret was mixing the corn into it. I just wanted another veggie and love corn, but it didn't work all together, so next time I'll keep it on the side. I would also be ordering that dish again.
We also ordered the takoyaki. I don't like octopus so even though I like takoyaki as a whole, I often find if the octopus chunks are too big or there's too much, I don't like it. But this one was perfect!
Lastly, I also got the alcoholic peach cider, which I enjoyed but probably wouldn't order again since I preferred the Hawke's Bay Peach Bomb cider.
Everything beside the atmosphere was a 5 out of 5. I gave the atmosphere 4/5 not because of the actual dining experience, but because of the bathroom. I love how they are using one of the water conserving Japanese toilets however because the building itself the bathroom is very small a lot of water overflowed onto the floor and onto the toilet seat. This is an a fault of theirs, it is a very small bathroom and the bathroom was still clean it it's just something that I noticing for...
