Loved our stay here! It’s a very charming hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and held our luggage until our room was ready. When we returned to go to our room, our luggage was already in the room. Definitely recommend upgrading to a superior room. It’s a bit larger. The bed was really comfortable. There was a nice desk and lots of windows with black out curtains. The bathroom was great. There was a large soaking tub big enough for two. The shower was awesome - incredible water pressure! The toilet was enclosed so two can be in that bathroom at once. There is a nice selection of teas and coffee along with a tea pot and French press. One of the best things about this hotel is its location! You can be at the wharf in a few min and there are so many alleys around the hotel with plenty of places to eat and shop. We loved walking around. Overall a wonderful stay. Highly recommend. And we look forward to staying here again on a return trip.

We went there for breakfast, my husband and I arrived super happy, since it was completely empty we wanted a table from an specific area they said it was better if we choose one near the Chefs… anyway no biggie, we accepted, the waitress was following us with a jar of water to fill our water glasses when she has about to stretch her arm to grab my water glass we heard a loud voice saying “hey, priorities” “the food goes first” or something similar.. i assume was the manager? Idk but it changed the whole mood, the atmosphere was a bit weird, we tried to keep focused on our stuff but definitely didn’t like it, food was ok, not an outstanding dish. We didn’t even get one single smile or a positive thing about who worked there, we even tried to joke a little with waitress and nope… nothing Not friendly.. at least on Sunday morning

I had a one-week stay at the hotel and absolutely loved it. It felt like home. It is very unique in character with personalized service. It is a small hotel, so it doesn't feel institutional at all like many modern hotels. The location cannot be beat, especially after the road works on the corner are completed. The restaurant has a lovely afternoon tea once a week and their morning breakfasts are varied with several options for vegetarians. I absolutely loved my room other than an overly soft mattress. It is very quiet as the rooms are soundproofed. I was in room 2.2, a standard one.

This hotel is in the central city. First the good: the reservations and bar staff are very helpful. I cant speak highly enough of how friendly and helpful they are.

2.The hotel itself was designed by its owner and interior designer. Its very retro in style.it feels roomey for a small hotel.

3.The beds are luxurious and comfortable.

Being on high street you are literally a hop skip and a jump away from inner city shopping , the casino and the viaduct.

I would have given the hotel 5 stars were it not for a few problems. For a hotel touted as high end one would not expect these issues.

The playstations in the bedroom ? Why ? Especially sitting on a ledge jutting out. I managed to smack my head against the shelf it was perched on.

Phones not working. We couldnt order room service . Fortunately the bar staff made their way to our room to take our orders.

Things seemed a wee bit tired, lighs not working , toilet roll holder not fastened in place

Lack of a concierge. Almost every high end hotel I have stayed at has a concierge.

The curtains allowed light in

Power points with nothing to put our computers / cellphones on.

Soundproofing is poor we had bass coming through our room from a near by night club.

The sign at the entry point was covered in cobwebs

Would we stay here again yes....would we give it 5 stars yes if the above issues...

Lovely hotel & very well situated within the city making everything accessible. We had a hire car & had arranged for a space within the secure car park which is 3 minutes walk back to hotel once you’ve parked up. Checked in with no problem, we were given a secure car park key & directions on how to get there, it’s literally round the next block. We had read previous reviews that the car park had thefts so we brought all our luggage into hotel, no need to have done that the car park is extremely secure so we took our big cases back later. Our room was lovely, bright, very clean & a lovely big bed which had fab pillows & mattress. The breakfast in the morning was also really good. We had a $27 credit each ( breakfast is included in the price but you get a certain credit to use) we had the granola, fresh fruit & yogurt platter with chia pudding which was delicious + sourdough toast & fresh coffee. We are due back there in a few days before our flight home & really looking forward to our last night of our big holiday o this lovely hotel. Staff really friendly &...
