Walker & Hall Queen Street — Local services in Waitematā

Worst customer service experience from a luxury store. I was there to assist a friend to buy a potential gift for someone, ended up appalled by the service instead. This occurred Tuesday 20th Oct between 12-2pm, we were served by a asian lady with short hair (up to shoulders).

Initially we were greeted and assisted but when realised we were looking for gift ideas and not actually buying yet. Got a totally different tone and attitude. My friend simply asked for a brochure and we were given in the rudest tone "its over there, go have look yourself" then walked away, went back to chatting with staff members. I guess we aren't considered customers if we aren't buying at that moment. I'm very disappointed by the way my friend was treated.

I've previously purchased at this store and had no problems in past. I will not be returning to purchase anything from this particular store - the Newmarket and Albany store has better service, id recommend you don't bother going to this store if your looking to be served a "standard service".

Just another thing to add for customer service improvement: Just because someone is younger and wearing student attire - doesn't mean they aren't going to spend. Don't be quick to judge people by what they are wearing. All customers are customers and have potential of spending money. I shouldn't be saying this as it is a "basic" customer...

I wanted to give a very honest review about our experience purchasing our engagement ring. As something you only expect to do once in a lifetime, you'd really want everything to be perfect. From the moment we walked into the store, JM and the team made us feel like we were their only customers. I remember entering the store and feeling like "today is the day" as I got such a great vibe from the start. JM became our friend straight away and not once did I feel like she was a sales person; she took time to understand our vision and didn't rest until the perfect ring was in our hands. We also trust that Walker and Hall is a reputable business, we personally found the quality of the diamonds to be much better than other jewellers we visited, and they stand behind their products as they offer unmatched ongoing care of the jewellery so I know that we are going to be looked after for a long time. Early on in 2021, I took in a small signet ring that belonged to my Grandfather (it has sat in my Dad's top drawer since 1971, so after both my Parents passed away recently, it came to me). It was very thin and quite out of shape. I knew it would cost some fairly serious cash to have it repaired but I wanted to bring it back to life so that I can wear it proudly. A young guy named George took me through the process of having the ring assessed and a quote produced. I duly undertook to have the work done and when the ring came back I was stoked! It looks just like new, you cannot see where the joins are after they re-shanked it and it looks amazing. I'm so pleased and very proud to be wearing my Grandad's ring, not worn for 50 years. Thanks George and Team, an A1 job, much appreciated. :-)

Just to add that I have been back to Walker and Hall in Queen Street today and Naveen Kumar could not have been more helpful with what I needed....
