A Disastrous Experience at Majestic Cafe - A Heartbreaking Ruin
Dear Majestic Cafe,
I write to you today with a heavy heart and a deep sense of disappointment. My daughter, who turned 14 yesterday, had been eagerly anticipating her birthday brunch with all her friends at your esteemed establishment, located in New Market Mall. Unfortunately, what awaited us upon our arrival shattered our hopes and left us utterly devastated.
Despite having made a booking and extending invitations to a group of 7 young girls, we were greeted by a sign at Majestic Cafe's entrance, boldly declaring closure until tomorrow (Monday) due to water damage. While I understand the unforeseen circumstances that led to this closure, what I find truly distressing is the lack of communication from your staff. At no point did anyone from the cafe deem it necessary to contact us, leaving us oblivious to the fact that our meticulously planned birthday celebration was about to crumble.
Imagine the predicament we found ourselves in, desperately scrambling to find an alternate venue to accommodate 7 disappointed young souls on such short notice. It was an impossible task, as no other establishment could accommodate our party at such short notice. As a result, my daughter's cherished birthday, spent with her closest friends, was mercilessly ruined simply because no one at Majestic Cafe could pick up a phone and inform us of the unfortunate circumstances.
Adding insult to injury, my attempts to contact your establishment on Sunday were met with temporary solace as I managed to speak to someone at the Sylvia Park branch. They assured me that either the owner or the brand owner Chris would reach out to me promptly. Alas, not a single call was received from either party, further underscoring the extent of the unacceptable service we have endured. It is beyond comprehension that a business, could display such apathy towards a disgruntled customer.
The impact of this dismal experience extends far beyond a failed birthday celebration. It has left a bitter taste in our mouths, forever tarnishing the image of your brand in our eyes. I can unequivocally say that I will never again support or patronize Majestic Cafe, as it is evident that you have forsaken your responsibility to your customers.
To summarize, Majestic Cafe's negligence and disregard for communication has inflicted irreparable damage to my daughter's cherished birthday memories, and the subsequent failure to follow up on promises of contact only amplifies the distress caused. The poor level of service demonstrated by your establishment is deplorable and deserving of our deepest reproach.
I implore you to reflect on this incident, rectify the flaws in your customer service protocols, and take measures to ensure that no other family experiences such heartache and frustration in the future. It is my fervent hope that you will learn from this grievous mistake and endeavor to treat your customers with the respect and consideration...
Read moreI am only reviewing the high tea, I haven’t tried their menu yet. The savoury part was good, I don’t have much to say about it. Their iced tea was delicious and very refreshing. The sweet part though… The scones were awful, they didn’t even look like scones. It was very hard to cut into it, they seemed stale. Once I bit into it, it was chewy, very oily and did not have the texture of scone at all, it was like they microwaved it. On top of that, they forgot to give us the “freshly” whipped cream that I doubt was freshly whipped because it deflated so fast. Clotted cream would have been much better with scones. The little tart was way too sweet, I had one bite and even that was too much for me, I couldn’t finish it. The chocolate cake was okay, nothing amazing. The macarons had a good texture, I just wished they let us choose the flavour we wanted. It wasn’t in the high tea menu so we didn’t know this would be served. Same for the chocolates, I wish they gave us options because not everyone likes dark chocolate. The berries cake was STILL DEFROSTING. I cut into it and the center was rock hard, cold and icy. I didn’t even finish it because I was so done at this point. It was a very disappointing high tea for me and my friend, I left with a plate full of half eaten or barely bitten desserts. I would really not recommend if you’re big...
Read moreWe visited Newmarket store on Sunday, 23rd of April. It was such a beautiful evening and we really had the urge to drink something hot and Majestic tea bar is one of our go to cafe whenever its cold and windy outside. We ordered vanilla flavored tea and just came with a glass , but my husband and our toddler who were also there. So I requested for one more cup, but then the lady mentioned as we have only paid for one cup we are only given one cup. It was rather unfortunate like not to be provided an extra cup. And coming from the same household that would be quite a high amount if we had to buy two separate teapots.
Our toddler loves the tea from the tea bar and I was left with no other option than to request for a take away cup for our baby and just to be happy with one cup for both my husband and myself. It’s not that we dont like sharing from one cup, but the amount of milk I use is different from what my husband uses, so we preferred to have tea from two separate cups.
It was our first time in the Newmarket store, we have been to other store and they were more than happy to provide extra cups without any extra charge and that was quite a disappointing experience. But yes, on that note we will still be back to the Majestic tea bar as we always enjoyed the tea from there and will keep coming back. Keep up the...
