Mo's — Restaurant in Waitematā

I’ve visited Mo’s today early in the morning for one last drink before heading back to my hotel.

I’ve discovered Mo’s thanks to Google Maps, which I’m a big fan and contributor. I’ve read only good reviews on their Google maps page, one of them said that it’s a tiny quirky bar. That convinced me to check it out.

I’ve arrived there at 1am. I was greeted by a lovely bar tender. Indeed, the interior is small but cosy at the same, decorated with warm red lights.

The atmosphere was very warm cozy, as if you were ones living room. The barman played a nice 70-80’s funk/ soul playlist.

They have a nice selection of beers on draft and bottled beers. The barman really prepares some nice cocktails. Currently they also serve nice warm mulled wine.

I had a local pilsner and soaked up the atmosphere.

This tiny unique bar is great because they are one of the few that are open till 3am.

Inconspicuous little hole in the wall with a cozy atmosphere. Intimate space, always playing good music at a curiously low volume. At first it's almost uncomfortably quiet, in what seems entering a parallel dimension of ambience - an uncommon sophistication unexpected from downtown venues. You can't notice there's barely anything happening from the outside. But inside, you can speak with ease. No need for yelling! You can speak like civilised people while enjoying the music. Moreover (cracking my knuckles here), the cocktail menu is top notch and exceptionally delivered. They carry an impressive variety of beers (considering the limited fridge space).
