Ocean Groove Cruises — Restaurant in Waitematā

A special thank you to Ocean Groove Cruises for hosting my wedding and reception New Years Eve 31/12/21. Between my family and running a business, I didn't have a lot of spare time to plan a wedding. I certainly didn't want extra stress doing so, but I still wanted to plan everything myself. When I was looking for a venue I tried to find a venue that included or had the option to include as much as possible, as well as being able to cater for a special date such as NYE. I also wanted a venue that was different from the common vineyard, homestead, beach style etc. I thought how am I going to pull this one off. Then I came across Ocean Groove Wedding Cruise Package, which included and had the optional extras for everything I was looking for in a venue.

The team at Ocean Groove put in a lot of effort to satisfy all my requests from beginning to end. I was quite particular at times, they made me feel like everything I wanted was no trouble at all. Planning was a breeze! I even asked them to organise my wedding cake which they happily did, I just had to pick the flavour and approve the final look. I was very grateful as that was one less task for me to organise.

I was truly blown away at how they transformed this party boat into a venue fit for a wedding complete with red carpet.

Mal was very engaging with guests which was awesome. Also thoughtful and with a sense of humour, everyone felt very comfortable and in happy spirits. Mal worked hard to execute everything how I wanted, an absolute star. Bella their on-board photographer, offered to come to my house the morning of wedding to photo shoot bridal party getting ready. This was an unexpected bonus as I didn't organise a photographer for this. I'm thankful and appreciative for that. Opal and Chel on the bar were very efficient, kind and courteous. Great service! There were many cocktails and drinks being made continuously during our cruise. They even served cocktails for me and guests on the top deck when I was up there. Skipper, Mal's "twin brother" had to put up with our karaoke downstairs, he did so with a smile as we cruised along.

I am blessed to have had such an amazingly fun wedding day. Hosted by a wonderful crew, cruising the harbor on a beautiful NYE afternoon. No pretentious staff, straight up honest and kind that treated all guests as VIP and wedding party as VVIP. A very special day that we, our family and friends will always remember. I was smiling and laughing, in such a happy mood throughout the whole cruise as it was so much fun or maybe it was because of the bubbles or cocktails... Our goal for our wedding day was to give ourselves and guests a day to remember, but more importantly enjoy celebrating together. We achieved our goal with the help of Ocean Groove Cruises.

For a special and out of the ordinary wedding, with many options at your fingertips. Wonderful staff that will do their utmost to give you an enjoyable and perfect day, you've come to the right place.

Our family are looking forward to our one year anniversary hoping we'll be cruising again, might be sooner than that! Thanks a lot to all the crew at Ocean...

We had the most epic Hens night with the Ocean Groove crew and the happiest bride-to-be ever! I started planning this from overseas while waiting for my return to NZ; the distance did not present any barriers for our communication with Mal and Chel being very attentive and helpful with answering the several questions I had and by adapting the plan to fit our requirements. It just made it so much easier! The event itself was perfect! The friendly treatment and great hospitality were second to none the whole time, with solid H&S comms and procedures in place, which made each guest feel safe as well as respected. The boat is beautiful and spacious, we had around 18 people in total plus the crew, we had a topless butler from the Bare Butlers who was a gem! He was a perfect host, kind and a gentleman to all the ladies, and super fun and entertaining, we all had the time of our lives! We had people from mid-20s to early 70s on the boat and we are all treated like queens! If you are looking for something special for any occasion you will be so pleased with Ocean Groove Cruises, they have something for everyone, I would 100% go back again and again and again! Thank you so much guys for looking after us and making our hens and the bride to be the happiest ladies on...

The best work do we've ever had! After a lot of umming and aahing we decided let's just do it and spent a bit more than we'd planned for this years work do and we're so happy we did, it ended up being the best time!

The boat was the perfect venue with downstairs bar and booth seating for those wanting to chill a bit more as well as two bathrooms, upstairs was the party zone with a dance floor and outside top deck area with extra seating and great views, was great being able to roam between all the areas to match your vibe and the speaker system meant there were great tunes everywhere you went.

The crew were all super welcoming, fun and friendly, really made us feel at home while doing whatever they could do make it the best experience possible, truly a great group of people and we're so grateful for them hosting us :)

Drinks onboard are reasonably priced, the platters were tasty, all the optional add ons seemed super cool (wish we could've added the slide! maybe next time haha). We opted for a drag queen host and she was so great! A lot of personality without being too in your face, just enough to lighten the mood for everyone with some great shows and good laughs.
