Absolutely appalling service on behalf of the manager and lady behind the bar. The nice young man working is your saving grace and should be the manager has he is far more efficient and knows how to talk to customers.
I have recently just moved to Auckland and was out for a couple of quiet drinks, I am certainly not a big drinker so I was not intoxicated. My friend and I were moved around three times. So I decided to wait for my food at the bar. The lady at the bar rudely said ‘we don’t serve food from the bar’. I said calmly I am waiting here for my food as I have been moved around constantly. She asked me if I am ok as if I was acting cagey which not of my nature at all. I stood at the bar for a while then another lady came up to me and asked how many of us there where. She was quite abrupt, I said two and asked if there was a table for us. She said yes then said to me if I did not change the tone of my voice she would ask me to leave. At this point I said I would like a refund as my food still hadn’t arrived and I felt so un welcome. There was no apology the manager stormed off and passed me on to the nice gentleman that works there. He apologised as I believe he could see what had happened and processed my refund. To be honest I have never accounted such shocking service in all the places I have frequented. And to assume on here that I was intoxicated shows lack of respect for your...
Read moreVery very very Terrible bar manager . Power trip at its finest . If you could lie on a CV in order to get to the top of the table ahead of workers who actually work real hard , she was definitely the one . She will tell you her side of the story in order for you to question what time we entered, left, how much we had and if we were loud . Good thing I and 2 others from the group were not intoxicated and witness her acting real superior and trying to belittle our friends. 5 star for the Samoan male security who analysed the situation, thought before he could plan his action and handled the situation proper. He also had one thing the manager didn’t . That was patience .
Update : IG and TikTok posted for the manager alone . Great place in general, would not recommend coming back for a celebration unless you looking to leave annoyed and robbed ( zero refund for our drinks she refused to let us have after we brought) . . . . . Reply : Thank you for your reply .no need to review your teams action as nothing will change. Clearly can see you protecting your image and business . I am not surprised she did not tell you the full story. As a duty (bar) manager she did not show any concern or empathy towards my friends who clearly needed help and since we were only the last ones there she wanted us removed asap . Do not mistaken our action as aggressive as she matched her (Bar...
Read moreIf you have an anaphylactic allergy or a food intolerance, this is NOT the venue for you. They flat-out refused to serve me food. In my 20 years of living with anaphylaxis and stupid intolerances, I have never been refused service. Never. They even tried to sit me on a separate table from my group, they were so frightened of cross contamination. They requested that I bring in my own food. So I did...from a venue...two doors down...who were so helpful and didn't freak out when they heard the words "dairy" and "peanuts". This restaurant also managed to serve my friend food that they claimed was safe for her intolerance before snatching it away from her moments later saying it actually had the food in it. Too bad if she had anaphylaxis...get it together guys. At least I managed to convince them to give me a nice cocktail (although apparently that was highly risky too!).
Edited to add after restaurant response: All week I was able to turn up to restaurants/hole in the wall eateries with very small kitchens (one was a shipping container for heaven's sake) and they were able to accommodate my allergies & intolerances with no stress despite cross-contamination risk. These places received NO warning but handled it safely and with...
