Sushi is really good, love the vegan ones. But so disappointed with the staff. Have been in there a few times to find the staff so unhelpful I was struggling to get a whole serviette while a staff member watched, and ignored me, didn't help or assist Went in today to have a staff member at the counter watch while another staff member started to add up my order again even though I'd told her I'd paid. The staff member that I paid saw her doing this, and just ignored the situation till he had no choice but to say something, because I prompted him to Staff aren't customer focused but are good at refilling the cabinets. Vegans beware!! It's all very well (as the girl behind the counter told me that some of the deep fried stuff was vegan also), claiming you have other vegan options but it's all been fried in the same oil that the meat products have been fried in. Attractive premise with a "Japanese" theme, embellished with large, wall graphics. Sushis start from $1 upwards and can suit small eaters but will end up being more costly if you have a big appetite or like the fancy stuff (eel, prawns, skewered items, etc.). The appeal here is you can mix and match your sushi to your heart's content or else order from their menu. TJK is popular with the young crowd. It seems that generation Z has a penchant for sushi!

As for the food there is no discernible difference from the sushi served in other shops. Their water-gizmo is worth mentioning. Customers can help themselves to ice-cold water in decent, Japanese tea-cups which is a classy touch, compared to old, plastic utensils found at many other...

Sushi is mediocre and owner is rude to customers. Having been to Japan, it is mystifying to me how they get away with putting sweet chili sauce on all the sushi, and often have dry, crumbly rice in the sushi (like it has been sitting there all day). Some pieces even have American cheese on them! Insulting to even Kiwis. When I tried to mention this to the owner, he was extremely defensive and blocked me from his Facebook page. Not good practice, as you're supposed to listen to your customers, not just tell them "I have been in this industry for 20 years, our customers prefer our sushi, you're wrong". 1 star from me as there are other, better sushi restaurants in the city, who deal with their customers on a...
