Definitely a traumatic experience. I certainly won't be back again. Wasted time and money. Starting from the beginning: The waitress does not know the menu and is unable to answer the question what vegetariansi can be eaten in a restaurant, asked to call someone more expert in this topic, leaves customers for another 1.5 hours, informing subsequent calls and pretending not to hear. Totally cheeky. By chance, a passing manager answers questions but again gives incorrect information, which of course does not forget the memories of the next waiter, who will finally pay for incomplete driving, as a result of which you have to ask for the second part in accordance with the words of the manager. After more than an hour of waiting for 2 quick-to-prepare dishes, one of them arrives incomplete and the other cold. After reporting complaint, the dish returns to the kitchen and this time it arrives undercooked and again incomplete . Epic fail. Therefore, we leave "restaurants" only in name, because the decor alone does not make the place a restaurant. To sum up: terrible service, cold, unsubsidized and incomplete food for which you will pay anyway despite reported complaints and uneaten dish you will have to pay. Scandal. This place lands at the very end of my Lagos culinary list. In Europe you will find better food and service in roadside bars, and certainly cooked and warm. The only thing that can be praised is the Lebanese tea for which it was not worth losing so much time and nerves anyway. For...
Read moreIt was my second visit to La Chaumière yesterday, but my first for breakfast.
Parking is still as hectic as ever but they are mindful enough to offer complimentary valet parking, so they basically worry about how and where to park your car while you go ahead and have a nice time inside the establishment,
The very picturesque ambience is still as aesthetically excellent as it was when I first visited, but the ceiling over where we sat was leaking. They need to fix that especially now that the rains are here. The restrooms are very neat and smell fresh and this is HUGE for me. They also have a children’s play area which is another huge plus.
I had the La Chaumière breakfast (N14,500/guest)- the portion is HUGE, I couldn’t eat half of it - while my friend had the American breakfast (N9,500/guest). A glass of fresh juice cost N2,000 which I feel is on the high side for such a small glass. My friend had a glass of Frappuccino for N6,500 and it was decent - not WOW, just decent.
On the whole, it was a very pleasant experience with very friendly, polite and attentive wait staff. To really enjoy the serene ambience, go early on weekends before the after-church brunchers arrive.
The management may consider improving on wait time and also training the wait staff on what exactly the meals are. Ours struggled to explain what Labneh was, I had to Google and found out it’s actually Greek yoghurt. 😊

Read moreI discovered this restaurant last month (May) when I was out with friends for brunch and it’s arguable one of the best restaurants in Lagos right now. No doubt a top choice for brunch in Lagos and the best part; it is affordable.
Great ambience, loved the aesthetics and the service was good. We all opted for the same meal (the American breakfast) which comes with a complimentary drink and coffee. The meal was affordable; it cost N5450 each and we spent a total of N16350 for three persons.
It actually tasted so good that I finished my meal in one sitting which is rare because I always have to ask the waiter to pack my meal to go (swipe through for pictures😆)
This is a testament of how much I enjoyed my first visit which is why I have made so many visits since then and somehow I always opt for the same meal😅
You should totally check it out. The spot has amazing aesthetics for pictures, it is affordable and you will definitely get your money’s worth for your meal. It also has a play area for kids. I was even tempted to try out the trampoline🫣😅 Finally, it has a complimentary valet parking.
Pro tip- It’s best to go really early during the weekend, if you going for brunch because it gets really crowded after noon.
P.S- On my last visit, I discovered that the American breakfast now cost N5950 which is still affordable considering how filling the...
