Food was delicious and fantastic.

Unfortunately, the server was a pathetic, grumpy person (Thurs Feb 20 2025, evening). He hates foreigners and potentially racist against people of color, which is strange considering it's located in the centre of town and has the menu in English. Maybe move locations and get rid of the English menu??

I had to wave my hand just to order and get the bill because he kept ignoring us, while he played on his mobile and was chain smoking.

All our clothes stunk of smoke after we left because he and other customers were smoking like there was no tomorrow. I actually smoke myself, but not in people's faces, and certainly not while eating a nice meal.

We do not recommend this place because of the rude server and the smokey atmosphere, which is sad because the food...

Maybe because the name is in Cyrillic but it’s hard to find this place when searching Google maps. Then you have to walk down a few steps and along a corridor that doesn’t obviously have a restaurant at the end. But it does and it is worth the trouble! We sat under an incredible old tree, with a fountain next to us. Waiters are beyond delightful. Too many great dishes to review. Everything was delicious. Even a chocolate/raspberry cake that was as good as homemade. Their house red wine was spectacular — a vranec Cabernet blend from (I think) their own vineyard. This a very traditional Kafeana, I would guess that would be an equivalent do an American diner or an Italian trattoria. The dining room is located in a covered courtyard that has great lighting in the day. The food and service are impeccable. I had the shopska salad and the pork and mushrooms. Both were very good. The staff is exceptional, speaks English and even Italian. One of the staff is a gentleman that used to work for the Italian embassy. And i felt that it elevated the quality of the service as well. As it is an open courtyard, albeit with cover, it is allowed to smoke inside. So depending on where you are from, expect a trip in time as far as that...
