Brioni 2008 — Restaurant in Municipality of Ohrid

We sat down to dinner to eat a traditional Macedonian barbecue for two. On the plate was served a quarter of a sausage, a piece of chicken fillet, a liver, a patty and a piece of meat whose origin I would not like to comment on. The meat had a terrible aftertaste, it was not edible at all, the patty was mostly made of soy with some traces of meat. I also ate the veal soup, which was nice, and that's why I'm giving you one star. While I was eating the soup, the waiter had already brought the grill, which is not according to etiquette. Among other things, I should emphasize that as soon as we sat down, we were asked where we were from, and we said that we were from Serbia. I couldn't help but notice that a young waiter heard that and commented to his colleague, "Well, these are from Serbia," pointing his finger at us. The baked beans with kebab were ok, the meat was nice but the beans and the sauce weren't much different from standard baked beans. The chicken skewers were horrible, the menu says they are grilled, but they were clearly just baked/pan fried, had absolutely no flavour (not even salt and pepper at least), and were too dry due to overcooking. It was a complete disappointment and we couldn't even finish it, at least the cats around the place enjoyed it, giving it to them was our only option to avoid wasting it. I came here 2 times. Both times an elderly gentleman served me, who is very nice & speaks good English. Service is quick, the outdoor seating is ok. 1st time I had the mixed grill, only the lamb is good, the beef & chicken is overcooked, dry & hard. I went again, as only this restaurant serves beef muscles (Muskul vo sos), & it’s so good. the meat is well cooked & tender, & the white sauce is unbelievable.
