Mamma Pizza Vika Osteria di Mare is a pretty good restaurant with excellent pizzas located in Oslo, Norway. Not necessarily a place for a quick meal when in a rush though, as the service is very nice and helpful but can become overwhelmed. Indoor and outdoor seating, but beware the weather. Free WiFi available. It specializes in Italian cuisine, with a particular focus on seafood dishes and authentic pizzas. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh seafood, pasta, and traditional Italian dishes, aiming to provide an authentic Italian dining experience. Known for its cozy atmosphere and high-quality ingredients, Mamma Pizza Vika Osteria di Mare is a popular spot for both locals and visitors seeking a taste of Italy in Oslo. Included in the Oslo pass for a 20% discount as of August 2024. Walk in might have to wait. Reservations are highly advised…

Some friends living in Oslo recommended this place to us, and we were blown away! From the service to the pure, authentic Italian food—everything was perfect. The first person we interacted with was Alejandro, who showed us to our table. He confidently assured us that their espresso martinis were the best. And wow, was he right! The rest of our service was handled by him and another waiter named Uri. Both had great social skills—very impressive compared to the rest of our experiences in Oslo. We ordered a bit of everything: the best espresso martinis we’ve ever had, the spicy sausage pizza, and the gorgonzola ravioli… just amazing! Everything was to die for. Thank you so much, Mamma Pizza! This was a ten out of ten for us!

I am usually not a person who is leaving any comments online. But this place deserves it. I am here in Oslo for a weekend and found this place by chance. It was really crowded - totally understandable for Saturday evening - but the staff really made an effort to find me a place to sit. If not for them, I would have probably went back to the hotel and skipped dinner. Furthermore, as a regular solo-traveller, I have to admit that dining out alone is not always a pleasure. Here I felt welcomed, I felt entertained, I felt treated like a guest. Paula is your superstar - she really made my evening. Oh, and the food? Amazing. But you had me already when I saw Sardinian wines on the menu. I will be back. Maybe even tomorrow :)

Unfortunately, my review will be a generally negative one. My husband and I went there today to celebrate my birthday. We decided to give Mamma's pizza a second chance because we tried a different location before, but we were not too happy about that experience either (location was moved, menu shortened drastically and we sat on barrels). However, the food was good and was the reason we wanted to try again. The atmosphere is alright, the place looks good. Music a little loud for my taste, but it wasn't really a problem. The real problem was the staff, the service. We got seated and we ordered a Bellini, an Espresso Martini and a Pepsi. We specifically asked the waitress to bring them before we ordered any food. She was gone for more than 20-30 minutes, until another waitress came to ask about the food. We ordered our pizzas and we asked about the drinks, which at this point were very late. She brought them all at once, even when we asked for the drinks first.

The Bellini I ordered was advertised as having peach puree in it, but instead it came with a sunk to the bottom of the glass peach liquore. Pizza was amazing, so at least the kitchen staff is doing a great job. After the order came in all at once, no one checked on our table for a long time, until we had to ask someone to come by as we wanted to order some more drinks and desert. When the third waitress came, she barely knew the items on the menu, we wanted to order a blue Mojito, which she said there is no such thing until we showed it in the list. Barely knew what kind of icecream you had, she almost left before we even finished our sentences. We had to stop her from leaving because she only listened to one of us and was ready to go. Finally, the Mojito comes and so does my icecream. Advertised as having some sort of biscuit in it, but had only a very tiny strawberry and some vegetarian whipped cream instead, and the Mojito tasted nothing like rum at all, only a few crushed blueberries and maybe some diluted vodka or something hard to pinpoint. Why do you advertise for something you don't really offer?

At the end, after all this poor service, the POS with what we had to pay was also prepared for the tip, with presets and all. I mean thanks for the math, but how about some good service first? It really saddens me, because the food was really good, but the service and partially the bar staff pretty much ruined it for us. The expectation of a tip is also a little bit insulting given the circumstances. The restaurant was not busy at all, the waitresses just did not know their job. Perhaps the managers could do a better job at instructing their staff. It was really disappointing. I doubt we will...

Mamma Pizza Vika is a must experience authentic Italian restaurant nestled in the theatre district of Oslo🤩 🇳🇴🇮🇹❤️

We dined there for both lunch and supper and both meals were beyond our expectations and this is considering that we have travelled extensively across Italy over the years.

The hospitality from greeting us at the front door to table service to the very talented chefs behind the scenes was exactly how eating in an Italian restaurant should be🇮🇹❤️

Dining here was like eating at your Mama’s house, generous portions, beautifully seasons with local fresh ingredients, freshly prepared pasta and pizza dough and the latter which has been proved over 36 hours (and you can certainly tell the difference in the superb quality and taste) and all served with warmth, smiles and friendliness.

I’m recommending this taste of Italy in the heart of Oslo as the place to bring your family, friends, the love of your life to enjoy such a wonderful atmosphere, delicious authentic dishes and top class hospitality. ❤️🇮🇹❤️

If you are using the Oslo Pass then this restaurant just adds value to your experience as they offer a generous 20% discount at the time of writing. But I would go there regardless as they know how to make you feel welcome and serve the best Italian outside of Italy and that’s saying something. Happy to take the challenge if there is a better Italian restaurant outside of Italy 🇮🇹 😍

Thank you to the wonderful team at Mamma Pizza Vika for making some special memories for us at the end of our Nordic adventure...

I recently visited Mama Pizza, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.

When we arrived, there were several free tables, yet we were seated right next to the toilet—barely a meter away from the door. It was one of the most unpleasant seating arrangements I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant.

Service was lacking in many aspects. They didn’t serve water, nor did they offer any desserts initially. When we finally asked about dessert options, the staff had no idea what the dishes were made of. Since we have an egg allergy, we specifically asked about ingredients, but they couldn’t provide clear answers. It was concerning that the staff seemed completely unaware of what they were serving.

On top of that, getting any service at all was a struggle. I ordered one pizza and later wanted to order another, but no one came to check on us. I had to stand up, walk around, and search for a waiter because they were focused on serving larger tables and ignored us completely.

This was my first visit to Mama Pizza, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience. Poor seating, inattentive service, and lack of basic knowledge about the menu made it a very disappointing...
