We were hyped before coming here but left utterly disappointed after leaving. (I’m writing this review 24h after the visit, so the frustration is somewhat gone but you could imagine how frustrated we were then by the tone of this review)
I’ll get the negative out of the way first. We ordered the Tantanmen and Gyokai Mazesoba. 45 minutes later, our order wasn’t even made. The thing is we were sitting RIGHT IN FRONT their cash register/POS terminal. And the girl who took our order didn’t even bother checking on us/our order despite passing us by for more than 30 freakin times!!! We need to ask another girl if they missed our order, and she even needed to write down our order again on paper. They said they had some issues with the terminal. At that point, we even considered leaving as we’d been waiting for so long and the waitress were so careless.
On to the “brighter” side. Ramen is mid, if not below expectations. We were starving, and you know that when you’re starving, food shall taste better, but it was not the case. I would say their ramens are not as good as the other well known ramen restaurants in Oslo. Tantanmen was meh, but the other one was quite good to be honest. I particularly like the ramen noodles, which are made in house as far as I can see. The noodles somewhat remind me of what we had in Japan.
I know I’m being harsh on them, but it can’t be any other way. I don’t want anyone to get fired due to this review. I genuinely hope that they could improve on whatever needs to be improved. Hope they will get better in the future, but we’re not getting back here anytime soon,...
Read moreRamen has always been a favorite of mine, even back home in the Philippines. Here in Oslo, the Miso Ramen has become my go-to—not just because it’s close to where I live, but because they consistently serve genuinely good food.
I’ve been meaning to write them a good review for the longest time, but I always end up postponing it. Last night’s experience, however, was so special that I couldn’t let it pass without sharing.
We arrived at the restaurant around 6 PM, excited to try their new beef ramen. Unfortunately, it had already sold out by then—which wasn’t surprising since it was new and clearly popular. I think our disappointment showed on our faces (haha), but we completely understood. To our surprise, the Filipino chef noticed and offered us something off the menu as a kind gesture.
What came next was unforgettable: a bowl of ramen topped with pork belly that literally melted in the mouth. It had a beautiful grilled flavor with just the right hint of charring, and the broth was nothing short of extraordinary. A simple dinner turned into an unexpectedly amazing experience, and that’s exactly why this place deserves...
Read moreVisited Miso Ramen for the second time now and is still amazed by the taste of their Ramen. Each sip of the broth is bursting with flavors and the noodles is really good. On my first visit, I treated myself to their Ebi Miso Ramen. I have never tasted anything like that here in Oslo. The serving size is pretty generous and the softshell crab, prawn and scallop on top of the savory/creamy broth is really a feast not just on the tastebuds but for the eyes as well 😋 Really delicious. And as for my second visit, I ordered the Shoyu Paitan. This too is really really good. The meat is tender and the broth is flavorful but not overpowering. Their Chicken Karaage is a must-try too!! My new favorite comfort food!
P.S. The ambiance is very nice and the staff is very accomodating. Will definitely come...
