I have never posted a bad review as I usually feel one negative experience and by one member of staff should not hinder the performance and service of the overall establishment but in this instance as it was the general manager who created an unprofessional and deeply inappropriate experience for myself and my sister I feel it is warranted to protect others from spending their hard earned money. We had booked for drinks only one week prior in the sky bar. We had eaten food on numerous occasions in the restaurant downstairs and never had any issues. We also had booked dinner for the next day. When we arrived and informed our server that we were only having drinks she left and returned to say due to this we would only have the table for one hour. We were surprised but said between us we would have a drink and then go somewhere else. I would like to point out there was no view as stated and we were seated next to a plastic covering. We were also surrounded by empty tables. We had two drinks each and the bill suddenly arrived to the table without us asking one hour later. We paid our server and on the way out my sister asked could she give some feedback to the manager. The lady at the desk said I am the general Manager. My sister said she felt slightly confused as to why when we booked for drinks we were told we had to leave after one hour when we booked our slot for the allocated 2.5 hours, she also informed the general manager that we had dinner booked for tomorrow. She did not look up from her computer and said we do not do drinks we were being nice to you giving you the table. My sister and myself were quite shocked and said it does not state this anywhere on the website or booking. She replied we dont do drinks, I have customers arriving please move out of the way. My sister was very taken aback and asked why the woman was being so dismissive and unprofessional. She said move out of the way of my customers and leave. We were absolutely shocked to say the least. We got straight in the lift and left. The general manager is absolutely not suited to this role. As I have seen from other reviews, many other customers have had similar experiences with her. I would advise the organization sends this general manager on an intense training course on management and people skills. It is appalling how we were spoken to last night. I am a manager myself for numerous years in a role dealing face to face with the public. This type of unmanaged situation is what leads to the downfall of a business. This general manager is the face of the business, truly frightening. We cancelled our booking for dinner for tonight and will never make a booking at this restaurant or any of its associates again. Read moreWe have had polarizing experiences at Nodee Sky that requires some sort of statement. The first experience was with my immediate family pre-covid. Service and food were excellent and we had no complaints. With that in mind we brought 2 couples with us to our second visit where things immediately turned into a disaster. As a group of 7 we were split into 2 tables. No restaurant that I have been to in any price range would split the party without prior warning. There were also larger parties seated that were not split so the size was not a factor. They cited covid restrictions but apparently it only applied to us and not everyone else in the restaurant or indeed in Norway.The service was deplorable. From the tone of voice, attitude and simply incompetence, it was a far cry from the experience we had before. The communication between the servers and bartenders was zero. We had to ask for refills and service throughout the night. The wrong cocktails were delivered 3 times to the table. They delivered the correct cocktail the first time, every subsequent refill was a different drink. The majority of the party was fed before my husband and I. The two tables nearby ordered the same items as my husband and I, after us and was served before us. When the manager Thao Nguyen (owner ?) was contacted she was incredibly confrontational and rude. Dictating that our experience was simply incorrect and that her staff behaved appropriately.The reality of the situation is that we will never consider attending such an uncomfortable environment again. The food was phenomenal, compliments to the chef, but everything from the kitchen to the table was disgusting, horrible and incompetent. Surprising in Norway! As we have lived in 8 countries and travelled the world this has been the worst dining experience we have ever experienced! I booked the 13th floor for drinks and was told by the server that we could only have the table for 1 hour not 2.5 hours because we had booked for food but we were only having drinks. We stayed and had two drinks, before we even asked the bill was brought to us, there was empty tables around us. On departure I mentioned to a woman who told me she was the general manager that I would rather the bill hadn’t been brought like that and maybe on the website it needs to be made clear that “drinks only” isn’t an option, she told me we were being nice by letting you have the table, we don’t do drinks, she spoke to me while texting and typing on a laptop, she didn’t care, she did not want to hear me at all. I was very taken aback by this attitude, I had dinner booked for tonight, I tried to mention this to her and she called the lift for me and told me to leave, she had guests to serve! I was a guest to serve and listen to. Honestly the matter in which she behaved was like nothing I have ever witnessed, I cancelled my booking for tonight and I will never go to Nodee again.
