Pigalle — Restaurant in Oslo

I rarely if ever deploy the "hidden gem" trope but, this place deserves the distinction. As the name suggests, the bar is genetically complicit with its namesake in Paris, minus the seediness. The cocktails are first class, the staff are well versed and mange to traverse the line between detached and engaged with aplomb. Coupled with the eclectic and tip-of-the-spear music played by resident DJs (note: the DJs somehow keep it at a level where a conversation isn't a problem) this place is a win,...

I used to love this place until today. Ordered a drink and soon after placing my order, a waitress brought it to the table. Upon setting it on the table, she smacked it on the surface and of course it dripped out on the table making everything wet.. She didn't say a word. She left and I thought she will come back with a napkin...well, she never returned... Nor will I...

New owners and the result is a mess. We were four people and every drink tasted bad. The music is terrible, and completely out of touch with the inherited art deco surroundings. This used to be a really lovely place with a unique vibe - my favourite place. I hope the new owners do some research and understand what the "stamkunder" want before they abandon this...
