This restaurant offers an authentic, no-frills dining experience. The chef and owner are Thai, so the Thai dishes stand out as the most skillfully prepared. I tried the Massaman curry, which wasn't spicy and leaned slightly on the bland side, but it still had a satisfying depth of flavor and came in a generous portion.
The space itself is small and cozy, with an unpretentious atmosphere. The owner's interactions with customers might strike some as brusque, but I found her candid, no-nonsense approach refreshing. For example, when a customer ahead of me asked for a recommendation, she simply told him to read the menu and decide for himself. While he seemed offended, I couldn't help but appreciate her straightforward style--it added character to the overall experience.
If you're looking for genuine Thai flavors and don't mind a bit of sass with your meal, this spot is worth a visit.

Read moreDisappointing Tom Yum Experience I live in Tromsø and I am a regular at this place, but after my last experience, I won’t be coming back. I ordered the Tom Yum with egg noodles, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had - especially considering it was meant for a special occasion, a birthday dinner. I paid 240kr for a bowl that consisted mostly of overcooked noodles and just five small shrimp. There was barely any soup—definitely not what you’d expect from a proper Tom Yum, and the flavor was completely off. No vegetables, no balance, just a bland, soggy mess. It was so bad I ended up throwing the whole dish away. A complete waste of money and unsatisfying dinner. This used to be a go-to spot for me, but the quality has dropped. The meal was so bad. (On the picture, you can see what I got. I had already eaten the five shrimp and a bit of the soup—but there were basically only five...

I was pleasantly surprised at the seasoning balance of the food we ordered. Husband ordered the beef noodle soup (number 14) and the broth was very different from how it's made in Singapore. It's very clean, beefy with sweet aftertaste of the broth. Recommended.
I had the Thai curry noodle with chicken (number 551) and I was also surprised at the style they made this too. I'm used to a more sour tasting Thai curry, but theirs is very balanced. There is tomato's in the broth but it's not very sour and balanced between heat and spicy taste.
Quite glad to be able to try Asian food in the most northern city in the world. Place is pretty small, so take out if there's no seat and collect your food at the counter when it's ready. Would be good to help return your tray back to the counter to help out. It's just 2 people...
