We found this little gem of a cafe two blocks down the street from where we were staying.
The environment is cozy and inviting and the staff are tremendously welcoming and helpful. You do need to find yourself a table first before you can enjoy the fare they have to offer.
Their menu is not huge but you should find something for everyone (as it is hand written on a board I suspect it may change depending on what’s available). I opted for the lentil and barley soup, which came with bread and butter. It’s was just what the doctor ordered, tasty, yummy, warming and filling. I also got the local ham and cheese sourdough toast sandwich which was really nice, the ham was on the saltier side similar to a prosciutto but was perfect in this case. The only thing was I ordered too much and should have gone with one of the other so I didn’t struggle to finish it at.
Their coffee selection is many and they are so accurate that they weight how much grounds to us to get the perfect pour and to watch the detail they take in adding the milk to make latte art is mesmerising.
They will definitely be seeing me again...
Read moreA heartwarming haven for coffee enthusiasts and food lovers alike. From the moment you step inside, the cozy Scandinavian ambiance envelops you, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. What makes it stand out even more is the lovely team behind the counter. Everyone working there was genuinely kind and helpful, creating a space that feels less like a business and more like a neighborhood favorite. You can tell they care deeply about what they do, from the way they serve each cup of coffee to the thoughtful food on the menu. The coffee is excellent — rich, smooth, and clearly made with love — and the food is fresh and beautifully presented. Whether you’re in for a quick cup or looking to spend a quiet hour with a book or a friend, Risø is just the place. Also, try not to miss their cinnamon rolls, they are absolutely divine and they are selling out very fast. Can’t recommend it enough. A true...
Read moreDelicious smooth coffee latte and food! Lactose free milk available for lactose Intolerant people. The omelette is usually served with goat cheese but you can substitute it with ham as I did. It was extremely soft and fluffy served with some syrup on the side - an interesting sweet and savoury flavour.
English breakfast was good - they fried up bacon, sausage, onions and potatoes together with two fried eggs served on top. Daily soup was lentils with some root vegetables which was okay, not amazing. All plates were served with their warm homemade bread with rich creamy butter. Yum! I'd highly recommend this place for good quality food and coffee.
The only minus point worth mentioning is that the service weren't as friendly and nice as in some other cafes. But again, it's a busy coffee shop which could explain why...
