We entered Egon and had to wait in a queue for about 20-30 minutes, and when we eventually got in, we found there was a lot of empty seats free and so we were unsure why we had to wait in the queue for that long. We ordered our food on the app - I was able to order but my friend couldn't and so ordered at the bar instead (before me). She received her food first, and they seemed to have forgotten my starter. After we brought it up, it arrived quickly but was warm and could've been hotter. The main course came soon after that, but no staff member told me that I could help myself to the buffet until I asked. We also weren't asked how our food was until pretty late in the meal.
With that being said, I believe the staff were under a lot of pressure as aside from that, they were really friendly and smiley. The food was really, really tasty - the fish soup was a highlight and the pizza buffet was a tasty cheap option giving one meat option, one vegetarian option and then pesto pasta and salad (which could have been a bit fresher but given the price I paid - it's fine). My friend believed her steak was cooked to perfection, and the crispy chicken tacos were super tasty.
The light above the table wasn't on, so it was quite dark despite the candles on the table - it's a matter of personal opinion whether you like it that dark and cozy but prefer a brighter atmosphere. It was relatively quiet and I felt tucked away and private even though it was a busy night (though not as busiest).
Given the taste of the food and the cocktail I had, I can see why it's a popular choice in Norway and I think people should give it a...
Read moreHey the experience that I had will help you to be from a moral point of view, and of course no one wants to pay dearly and receive cheaply, I went to this restaurant, I ordered pasta bolognese with extra kjot, and a refreshing drink, ok everything good and beautiful, nice vibe, but after a very long time, 48 minutes, considering that there was no agglomeration, I say that you lose your appetite, after which, ok, I went home to say that I can only wait, unfortunately, but the cashier, looking to me very angry, and with a strange accent spoken, and says to the miracle,, there is no McDonald's,a very civil character on the part of the cashier, of course I do not recommend after which he told his manager about this order, and I wanted to return the order to get the money back, he looked very angry at me, full of hatred, of course I will tell you the end, how it went, and with pasta I forgot I had given it when I wanted to leave, as I was a chef when I saw some greasy pasta, very old, and instead of kjot I received sauce, finally the end was today, which will certainly give you something to think about, today I was with my friend, and we were kicked out because the cashier told me that I was no longer allowed to come to this restaurant ,what do you think, racism 100%, happy to come to this place, be careful what you eat, it is extremely expensive and disgusting, and don't ever plan to move to Norway, racism still dominates even now in the North of Norway, I do not recommend before I judge what I wrote discover, a...

Had the beef Bulgogi and "dumplings".
The Bulgogi meat was decent on some parts. Half the meat was tender enough but other parts were really dry and hard to chew.
The rice i got was mostly okay, but it had multiple chunks of completely hard rice that had probably been scraped from the bottom of the cooker. I mentioned this and got a new bowl of rice on the side. The second bowl of rice was overall fine. Nothing to brag about but fine. Right after the second bowl arrived someone else came with another one. This third bowl was atrocious. The rice was borderline paper-mache. No consistency, no nothing. I cannot fathom how in three bowls of rice you go from mostly okay but with hard parts, to decent, and then to literal mush.
The chef is clearly incapable of making rice on a consistent basis and should refrain from doing it till he gets a grip.
I also ordered the "dumplings". What i got was not dumplings, but steamed buns. These are not the same thing.. I made the staff aware of the incorrect information on at least the English menu, and they said they would look into it.
After i gave them the feedback i got the dessert on the house, which was fine, but also expected at that point. The Panna Cotta was actually very Good and very well made, which was at least somewhat a saving grace.
The staff were very attentive and tried their best, so i will give plus points for that.
Anyhow, until something changes, DO NOT order Asian food at...
