Our experience at this restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. We went as a group of 7 people on Friday, June 20, 2025, and ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for our food. The upstairs seating area felt quite cramped and uncomfortable, especially since the restaurant was full and very busy at the time.
The service was okay – the staff were polite and tried their best – but the speed of service was extremely slow, and honestly, the food didn’t meet our expectations in terms of taste.
What was most frustrating was the lack of transparency. I asked the staff 2–3 times how long the food would take, and each time they said 20–30 minutes, which clearly wasn’t true. It felt like they were just trying to keep us waiting rather than being honest about the actual wait time.
Despite the long delay, we didn’t receive any apology, which was quite disappointing.
As tourists, our time is valuable, and because of the long wait, we missed the chance to visit other places we had planned for that day – everything was already closed by the time we finished eating.
I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re in a hurry or visiting during a busy time. The restaurant should really be more upfront with customers when the wait is going to be long – and a sincere apology would...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for straight 3 days out of our 5 day visit in Tromsø either for lunch or for dinner. I must say the food is as original as you are eating back in India. We repeated Palak Paneer and daal tadka twice. Especially the palak paneer is straight out of heaven, its a must have if you visit this place. The portions are also good. They serve good quantity rice as sides with each main dish. We also had chana masala and chicken tikka masala along with naan and rice. They were also amazing. We generally love spicy food so we requested the owner to make it extra spicy for us and he took good care of our little request. I am forgetting the name of that awesome desert , its a mix of carrot milk and rice and feels like combination of carrot halwa and kheer with loads of dry fruits. This one is amazing to finish your meal.
Lastly, the owner is a very nice and welcoming person. He greeted us with a smile everyday. He love to chat with people and makes sure everyone has a nice experience around. Once we reached the restaurant at around closing time but even then he stayed extra just for us to have our dinner. It was so nice gesture.
We highly recommend this place. Next time when we come to Tromsø, would love to see chola bhatura in...
Read moreOkay we went to this place twice. Both the days we were really disappointed. Accounting the first day, we ordered Dal Tadka, Rice, Chicken Pakora and Mix Tikka. We were served veg pakora instead and was told this tastes better, the chicken tikka were cut finger digit sized dry grilled cubes and the Dal was boiled Dal. Hoping to give it another shot we went the next day. We ordered Garlic Tikka, Palak Paneer and Dal tadka. The Garlic tikka was green same dry chicken with limited or no traces of Garlic, the Palak Paneer was yellow dal with hint of chopped palak(spinach). The price point is also on the steep side. Tromso is a small town and surviving as an Indie restaurant must be difficult. But such stark miss the point taste is something that definitely can be improved. Oh yes on the first day we requested for the Wi-Fi password and was told since it’s a long PW the server would write it down and hand it over. Until our second visit we waited but…. I think food would be still manageable if only the service was good. we were denied spoons cuz the guy stated the spoons are dirty and not yet washed, overall he just did not care we were there or needed something. it was really the bad service that prompted us to write this...
